According to the B.C. Ministry of Health Chronic Disease Registry, 30 per cent of Greater Victorians will be diagnosed with depression and 36 per cent will be diagnosed with anxiety or mood disorders in their lifetimes. Now, this new, MSP-funded group therapy program (facilitated by psychiatrist and GP teams) leads participants through eight weeks of cognitive behavioural therapy skill development in order to help them self-manage their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Note: this workbook is intended for use within a facilitated setting. This program has been shown to help people with mild to moderate depression and anxiety to gain confidence and skill in better managing their mental health. The development team is pleased to share this Workbook widely. However, they cannot guarantee that similar results will be realized when the Workbook is used in other contexts. To participate in a group, ask your family doctor for a referral to the program. Groups run on a regular basis.
