WELCOME WEEKEND AUGUST 25-27, 2017

This weekend is MANDATORY for all new students. Required activities are noted with an asterisk (*).

FRIDAY, AUGUST 25 *All activities with an asterisk are mandatory for new students at Tiffin University

RESIDENCE HALL MOVE IN 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Residence Hall Move In Assigned Residence Hall You will get keys to your new home on-campus. Settle into your new place and then head to the Gillmor Student Center to check in for Welcome Weekend and attend the Welcome Fair (details listed below).

WELCOME WEEKEND Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to check in and visit the Welcome Fair.

The Dragon Shoppe Bookstore will be open until 5 p.m.

*Meet Your Peer Mentor (students only) Gymnasium, Gillmor Student Center Your peer mentor is an upper-class student leader selected to guide you throughout Welcome Weekend. Your peer mentor will also help teach the First-Year Seminar course throughout the fall semester, so consider her/him your first friend here at TU.

Dragon Family Session Marion Center We want to help your family stay informed about the happenings on campus. This session provides your parents and family members with the necessary information to help support and empower you as a new college student.

*Campus Convocation Heminger Center Your journey as a Dragon officially begins here! Convocation gathers the entire campus community: new students and families, upper-class students, faculty, staff, the provost and the president. We are excited to welcome you into the Dragon family!

Family Farwell Heminger Center As you begin a new chapter as a Dragon, this is your chance to say goodbye to your family and other special guests. Not to worry ...Family Fun Day is only a few weeks away.

Student Cookout Miami Apartments This is your time! Join your Peer Mentor and new classmates for an outdoor barbecue.

*Playfair Gymnasium, Gillmor Student Center This is a series of exciting and interactive activities to help you meet other students and build your community. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes in order to enjoy this event to the fullest.

Tif-FUN Fest Hayes Courtyard This is your chance to relax and hang out with new friends. Tif-FUN Fest hosts a variety of games and activities organized by our very own student organization members. Unwind and have fun, while you meet upper-class students from a number of organizations across campus.

Tiffin Music and Art Festival Downtown Tiffin Now that you know where downtown is located, feel free to venture back downtown to enjoy live music, local artists, and food vendors.

*TU Random Acts of Kindness Gymnasium, Gillmor Student Center Tiffin University believes that learning occurs in the classroom as well as through volunteer experiences. The day of service is an opportunity for the Dragon family to help those in need throughout the local community.

Non-Denominational Worship Chisholm Auditorium, Franks Hall This is an opportunity for you to worship with your new classmates. Open to students of all spiritual backgrounds.
