TEAM SPOTLIGHT: PERSONAL LINES If you’ve ever wondered just how big of a deal our Personal Lines team is… here’s a little perspective from our side: The largest carrier, American Modern, brought in $15 MILLION in business last year across 14,000 policies (no big deal). Next up is RLI with $2.8 million and over 4,100 policies.

Safe to say… the personal lines team stays busy.

Wait... we insured WHAT? Over the years, they’ve seen it all!

• A homeowner who built their entire backyard deck around a 200-year-old oak tree because cutting it down was not an option • Personal umbrellas for pro athletes AND actor Jack Palance (bonus points if you know who that is) • A father/son collector car duo with a collection worth almost $1 MILLION… and the premium is only about $3,100 • A man planning to ride his jet ski from New York to Miami… the entire East Coast (we didn’t have a market, but we respect the commitment)

A Little Throwback Personal Lines has been part of the Tuscano story since the very beginning. Back in the early days, Mr. T would literally ride his motorcycle to visit agents. He and Rob even rode across the country to a WSIA event (formerly NAPSLO). From $54 nurse professional policies to $114,000 high-value accounts… we’ve come a long way.

Look where that led…. The personal lines team handles the everyday, the unusual, and the “you’ve got to be kidding me” risks—and they love every minute of it. They are proud of what we do, and to be part of Team Tuscano.

All About the Kiddos We can’t stop talking about our kids! They stay busy, and we like it that way. In this issue, we have a ton of stuff to share. Take a look...

Alex Heiple, stepson of Tammy and brother of Ashleigh, will be attending the Summer Special Olympics Games at Penn State from Thursday June 4, through Saturday June 6. This year Alex will be competing in swimming, one of the many sports he enjoys. He always looks forward to this special time away, treating it as a fun and well-earned mini vacation.

Over the years, Alex has earned a large collection of Special Olympics medals, reflecting his dedication and enthusiasm across multiple sports, including: • Bowling • Swimming • Track and Field • Basketball • Bocce We are incredibly proud of Alex’s achievements and wish him the best of luck at this year’s games!

Dance competition season has been an exciting one for Nichole Reppert’s daughter, Sofia! This year, she brought home 1st place awards for her solo, duo, and group numbers, along with an Overall Award for her tap solo. We are incredibly proud of all of her hard work, dedication, and passion for dance.

Outside of dance, Sofia has shown strength far beyond her years. After many trips back and forth to Shriner’s Hospital, she was recently diagnosed with skeletal dysplasia and has undergone multiple surgeries while working through months of physical therapy. Through every challenge, she continues to remain strong, determined, positive, and full of light. She truly brings joy to every room she enters.

As we celebrate her 14th birthday, one thing is very clear; nothing can knock this girl down!

ALL ABOUT THE KIDDOS (CONTINUED) Jamie McQuistian’s son, Jacob, got to use his elementary school’s brand new sensory room. It’s the first in the district.

In case you didn’t know Jacob has autism and is non-verbal.

He sees the world a little differently and sometimes needs extra motivation to complete tasks.

Annie Brown’s kids have several exciting events to look forward to this summer: • Kendall & Everlee are wrapping up their dance season with a dance recital on June 20th at Westmoreland County Community College Kristen Fend’s son, Kaden, turned one in May!

• Everlee is starring in The Greatest Showman musical August 1st at Maestro Minds. Her role is one of the trapeze performers from the circus!

Crystal Kaylor’s daughter, Madison, got married to Shane Provance at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Youngstown, PA.

The Tuscano Tots are breaking a new record: in over 33 years we have never had 8 babies join daycare in under a year. The daycare ladies are excited for all the new babies but nervous about all the diapers!

TRAVEL AND LEISURE Nadine Rosensteel’s How to Travel on a Budget Vacationing does not need to be expensive if you do your research, are willing to travel during cost-friendly times of the year, and share a hotel room. Heidi Conrad and I have been traveling together for over 10 years. Our next trip is to Key West, Florida in July. This is considered the “off season” so hotel pricing is more affordable. It’s hot, but the upside is that ladies don’t need to wear make-up or spend time fixing your hair.

If you are a 20-year-old like my daughter you can wear your swimsuit everywhere and fit in perfectly!

There will be four of us traveling and staying in one room for three nights and four days. We will fly direct from Pittsburgh to Key West via Allegiant Air. The cost of a roundtrip ticket is $251.00 per person. We will be staying at the Best Western Hibiscus Motel for a total cost of $ 166.62 per person. It’s not a resort, but it’s safe, centrally located, with a beautiful pool, and offers free complimentary breakfast each morning. We put ourselves on a budget of no more than $75 per day for food and drinks per person. Uber from the airport is about $20.00 per trip. Key West is a walkable town, but we will rent a golf cart for a day or two costing around $25.00 per person ($100.00 total). There are many free things to do in Key West, but to really experience the history and beauty, excursions and tours cost from $15 to $150 per person.

The trip total per person should be around $1000.

Take the trip! You won’t regret it!

WHAT’S FOR DINNER? Tomato Soup

Made by Rob Tuscano and Joady Hill.

(Original Recipe adapted from Ted’s Bulletin)

Prep time 10 min, total time 1.5 hr • Makes 8 servings Ingredients: • 1/2 lb butter • 1 lb onions (about 3 medium onions diced) • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour • 4 (28 oz) cans diced tomatoes • 1 1/4 cup chicken broth • 1/4 cup sugar • 1 tbsp kosher salt • 1 tsp celery salt • 3/4 tsp pepper • 3/4 cup half & half • 2 tbsp honey Preparation Step 1: In a large pot, melt the butter over medium-low heat.

Add onions and cook gently, stirring occasionally, until soft and translucent. About 20 min.

Step 2: Add Flour and stir until mixture is slightly thickened and pale gold. About 3 min. (Do not allow to brown) Step 3: Stir in the tomatoes and their juices, chicken broth, sugar, salt, celery salt, and pepper. Raise heat to medium until the liquid bubbles, then reduce heat to low. Simmer about 30 min, scraping the bottom of the pot frequently.

Step 4: Stir in half & half and honey. Remove from heat and puree using a hand blender or allow to cool until no longer steaming and purée in batches in a stand blender. Return to medium heat just until heated through. Serve hot.

Tomato soup is grilled cheese’s best friend. It’s also a fantastic main dish that hits the spot no matter the time of year! The best day to enjoy this comfort food is a rainy one, but you can carry it in a thermos or other container for a quick bite on the go.

TECH TIPS Freeze your credit files!

• You can freeze access to your credit files at TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian • This prevents unauthorized and fraudulent attempts to apply for credit under your identity • They can be unfrozen at any time if you need to apply for credit, usually with the ability to automatically refreeze after 24 hours • They will remain frozen indefinitely until you go in and unfreeze them • Can be done via apps or the companies’ websites • It still keeps track of your credit score, and you can still check it anytime that you wish • If you apply for credit and forget to unfreeze, you will typically be informed that your credit report was inaccessible and what company was being used to check the credit report. You can then unfreeze that particular company and resubmit the application; typically, via a ‘resubmit’ link in the notification telling you the report was frozen.

• This is a relatively simple way to help prevent bad actors from taking advantage of identity theft.
