Dear Guest, Method Putkisto’s traditional (if not legendary) Summer break is a time for reflection and recuperation.

Beautiful nature, outdoor exercises together with Method Putkisto has the affect upon our bodies that we all appreciate – and are always amazed by!

This week is time for reunion and friendship but even more importantly, we are there to realign our bodies. We dedicate the week to building our optimum health and simply learn how to unwind the effects of stress and how to manage it throughout our everyday life.

For our new guests, this is an invitation to a unique experience and environment.

It is the choice of exercises, high quality nutrition, walking and rest (with a bit of fun and laughter) which leads to recuperation - and ultimately to the balanced body and mind.

This year, it is my pleasure to extend another warm welcome to Runni Spa, an authentic and exclusive place in Finland – where normal tourists hardly ever find their way. Runni’s staff are thrilled that the Method Putkisto group has chosen to return to their Spa for the summer break and welcome us as their very special guests. If you would like to give yourself the opportunity of learning far more about your potential and different ways of looking after your wellbeing, please join us. Marja Marja Putkisto is the founder and

creative force behind the internationally acclaimed exercise and wellbeing programme brand name, Method Putkisto. She is a producer, teacher, lecturer and author. She is the founder and director of the Method Putkisto Institute, training professional instructors and offering tailormade wellbeing programmes to clients.

Marja is known for her skill in unlocking her client’s potential creativity and strength, achieving results far beyond their expectations, as well as her intuitive and yet fun way of teaching.

Marja Putkisto’s work has received an award from the Finnish Government. In 2010 and 2011, Marja was named as one of the top trainers in the UK (Harpers Bazaar magazine) and Method Putkisto has, once again, been nominated as one of the leading anti-aging exercise programmes.

METHOD PUTKISTO Method Putkisto is essentially a precise and specific deep stretching, strengthening and breathing technique which realigns your body leaving you feeling light, lean and lifted.

Beyond exercising, our main aim is to teach you the tools to be independent over your body. When you get to know your body, you are free to be yourself and perform any task in life effortlessly.

Method Putkisto highlights the consequences of shallow breathing, tightness and shortness in the muscles. It shows how by simply elongating short muscles through deep stretching and breathing you can free the body to its neutral position and optimum balance. Method Putkisto is a neuromuscular re-education programme. It is a simple yet effective way to recover from stress and recuperate yourself.

Method Putkisto & nature – why?

Nature can have a unique effect upon our bodies. Walking will balance your body, get new oxygen into it and rotate your spine. It will also strengthen your feet and burn the calories. The unique movement resonates through the spine, increasing the blood flow, lymph drainage and, most of all, our agility. It is the combination of how we progress from the indoor exercises to the outdoor movement, and vice versa, which makes the break so special.

What will I achieve?

Sometimes rest is not enough to fully recuperate the body.

You will learn how to free yourself from muscular tension, tightness and discomfort and will enjoy improved posture, a lean, lifted, strong and supported body. Even more, you will feel a sense of wellbeing, increased energy levels and at best, a greater freedom of movement.

Who is the break suitable for?

It is for everyone who appreciates their wellbeing and is interested in improving the overall balance of their body. If you travel on your own, with a friend or partner, you will find like-minded people participating in this break.

Marja and her team will introduce you to different types of exercises that are precise and adaptable for individual needs to ensure optimum results.

We will teach you the basics of how to lift your posture and stabilize your spine, which is the foundation for any movement.

A correctly chosen progression of exercises, rest and recuperation leads ultimately to the balanced body. As we work through the whole body you will discover, as previous guests have commented, that the years will fall away and you will look ten years younger!

Method Putkisto floor-work: dynamic & deep stretching The deep stretching, strengthening and breathing exercises to lift your body to its ultimate posture and freedom of movement - excellent for stress release and relaxation.

At the Method Putkisto floor-work classes we will work with the programme focusing on how to stretch, elongate, lift, turn, twist, rotate, focus, visualize, imagine until even the most unaligned spine will be released to its ultimate state and aligned into an optimum position!

Breathing - Proper use of diaphragm will lift your body to its ultimate posture. We aim to empty our lungs from deep down to be able to refill them with pure air – this truly lifts your spirits!

Deep Strengthening - Exercises to build your deepest core around the sacrum making it a stable base for all movements.

Deep stretching - To realign your body. The Method Putkisto technique teaches you to elongate the short, tight muscles.

Method Putkisto – outdoor session Francis Mitchell & Nordic Walking - agility and freedom of movement Agility/flexibility: work on your agility, the one ability you loose fastest over the years. The spine requires rotational movement to maintain its strength.

We will be enjoying our very special outdoor classes (MP programme for the spine) based on Nordic Walking.

It is the combination of how we progress from Method Putkisto indoor exercises, to the outdoor movement classes and vice versa which makes the break so special.

The pure, Finnish air will clear your lungs, and the beautiful views will calm your thoughts, it will truly lift your spirits.

Walking on an uneven surface exercises the muscles around the spine and feet improving our agility.

We will pay particular attention to the technique of walking and learn how to perfect our own movement.

Francis Mitchell is our walking expert with years of experience.

CONTENT MP 3D Natural Face Clinic Method Putkisto 3D Natural Face Clinic has achieved profound and far-reaching results.

Smile away the years. We will balance the facial muscles, free your neck, shoulders and head.

We will focus on muscles supporting the neck, the head alignment and the “egg in a cup” principle.

By the end of the week our heads will be in the sky and our feet on the ground – and our faces will look more alive!

C L I M AT E & C L O T H I N G What to wear The light in Finland is very special.

We have long summer nights and midnight sun. The weather can be changeable; it can be cool but also hot at times. And it can also rain.

Indoor classes - Comfortable clothing and just socks are enough.

Outdoor classes - layers work best.

Shoes - Trainers are recommended for the MP Nordic Walking sessions.

Note Bring your own Nordic Walking poles if you prefer.

We have some that you can borrow.

Evenings - You are welcome to glam up or down – just enjoy!

The beautiful and clean surroundings alone will relax us. Runni is situated in The Lakes region in the centre of Finland not far from the Arctic Circle (nearest town is Kiuruvesi) - no pollution! This is why we will be enjoying our outdoor classes (MP Outdoor / MP Peak) based on Nordic Walking.

The pure pine air is great for our lungs, the scenery is restful for our eyes and its healing powers will sink into our consciousness. The midnight sun is always magic and stress dissolves at that special moment when “time disappears”.

Restaurant Mamselli Mamselli is Finnish and refers to a” warm-hearted female feeding and nourishing her family”. The restaurant faces the Kiuru River. All meals are buffet-style.

Breakfast is a buffet from 7.30-10am. Offering a nutritious, full breakfast, with the bread baked on the premises. All special diets are welcome.

Evening Programme Sunset barbecues - magical - on a long, summer evening with the midnight sun. On Wednesday and Saturday night, dance to live music by Finnish musicians.

Swimming There is a swimming pool available as well as an indoor and outdoor smoke sauna. We highly recommend swimming in the clean Kiuru River, directly from the sauna. There is also a jacuzzi whirlpool with a view out to the Kiuru River.

The transfer time is 2.5 hrs by coach through true Finnish countryside.
