The delicate and the powerful collide when percussion meets experimental electronics for acclaimed WA percussionist Louise Devenish’s debut solo national tour. Featuring a collection of works by Andrián Pertout, Stuart James, Cat Hope and Kate Moore.

Four-month composer mentorship program in Western Australia, South Australia and Victoria.

Taking inspiration from Anne Summers’ Manifesto championing gender equality, The Summers Night Project is a national mentoring program for women composers growing the gender diversity of composers in music programs Australia-wide.

Timed to celebrate the bicentenary of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, Unhallowed Arts explores the book’s influence on life and culture. Tura teams up with SymbioticA to present concerts in various locations around Perth and Fremantle.

Presented by Tura New Music, Monash University & Soundstream in association with APRA AMCOS, the Australian Music Centre and Decibel New Music Ensemble. The Adelaide concert is presented in association with the Helpmann Academy and the University of SA.

Taylor and Rose will work with community members, students, 20 violins and several pianos creating new soundworlds and storylines.

The Narli Tour Mark Atkins, Judith Hamann, Joe Talia, Tos Mahoney Fri 15 June – Sat 30 June Kununurra, Warmun, Halls Creek, Fitzroy Crossing, Derby, Lombadina, Djarindjin, One Arm Point, Beagle Bay, Broome A cross-cultural music tour through the Kimberley with community performances and school workshops.

Sensory Horizons Intercurrent 7:30pm | Tues 19 June | Subiaco Arts Centre Intercurrent weaves the inspiring virtuosity of Ashley Smith, Emily Green-Armytage and Louise Devenish (with special guests) as they explore stunning new works by Julian Day, Lachlan Skipworth and others.

Of Broken Trees and Elephant Ivories Gabriella Smart 7:30pm | Fri 29 June | Callaway Auditorium, UWA Adelaide composer and pianist Gabriella Smart performs Two New Proposals…, a work for detuned colonial piano and electronics by Erkki Veltheim, plus Kaps Freed by Cat Hope, from the commissioned series, Of Broken Trees and Elephant Ivories.

Inland Concert Series | Perth Erkki Veltheim, Rohan Drape, Alex Garsden + guests 4pm | Sun 21 Oct Fremantle The Inland Concert Series surveys multiple approaches and disciplines, creating concerts of exploratory and experimental music.

Co-presented with Cool Perth Nights, Sydney-based quintet Tangents makes ‘furious mash-ups’ of electronic production, experimental rock and free improvisation and transforms them into “remarkable, transportive music.” - Sydney Scoop.

Disruptive Critters embraces visual and sonic programming in the conceptualisation of a technological creation myth with the artists as three omnipotent figures in a lonesome universe.

In SITU Selected choreographers and composers Thurs 29 Nov – Sun 2 Dec Location to be confirmed In SITU is an annual collaboration between Tura and Strut Dance and showcases a season of exciting new, site-specific short dance works by a range of emerging and experienced independent WA choreographers, dance artists and composer/performers.

Decibel Revolution Decibel 7:30pm | Mon 3 Dec | Subiaco Arts Centre This concert focuses on works that feature the turntable: works by composers Maria Chavez, Chris De Groot, Milan Knížák, Luke Nickel, Cat Hope, Lindsay Vickery and Leah Blankendaal.

iMprov Workshops Various artists Subiaco Arts Centre Coordinated by Josten Myburgh these weekly workshops facilitated by guest artists are a vibrant incubator of new music thought and practice.
