Inspiration for Beyond the Big Day

Love is a force more formidable than any other. It is invisible—it cannot be seen or measured— yet it is powerful enough to transform you in a moment, and offer you more joy than any material possession could.

EDITOR’S Letter

I AM THRILLED WE’RE HERE AGAIN returning to the pages of Tulle after a little hiatus. And I couldn’t be more excited. Ever since I started this magazine back in 2014, wedding photography has had a hold on me. Tulle was born when I got engaged, and even long after my own wedding, I’ve never stopped loving the beauty of wedding inspiration. There’s just something about the artistry of these images—the fleeting moments, the details, the emotion—that I’ll never get enough of. That’s why bringing this issue to life after a break feels like such a dream. Inside, you’ll find real weddings captured by some of the most incredible photographers in the industry: Lei Lei Clavey, Holly Clark, Anya Kernes, Alicia Mink, Katie Julia, Chris & Ruth, Theatre of Real Life, Niki Marie, and Krust Photo. Their work is nothing short

of breathtaking, and curating it for these pages reminded me exactly why I started Tulle in the first place. I am in awe of the beauty, the creativity, and the love showcased in this issue. It’s everything I hoped Tulle would be when it began and it’s only just the beginning of what’s ahead. I hope you enjoy every one of these pages as much as I enjoyed putting them together for you. Thank you for coming along (and if you’re not new here, for staying!) on this journey with us. We’re officially back!

MINI MOON

Couples are trading grand getaways for INTIMATE escapes and redefining the HONEYMOON in the process.

So, you’ve just pulled off the wedding of your dreams— pat yourself on the back! But after months of planning, the thought of organizing a grand honeymoon might feel a tad overwhelming (not to mention, your wallet might be giving you side-eye). Enter the Mini Moon Honeymoon: the short and sweet getaway that’s perfect for newlyweds looking to relax without the stress of a big trip.

Think of a Mini Moon as the honeymoon’s cooler, more laidback sibling. It’s a shorter post-wedding trip, typically lasting a long weekend (think 3-5 days), and often closer to home. The vibe? All the romance and relaxation, minus the extensive planning and hefty price tag.

key escape. No need to stress over visas or long-haul flights— just pack a bag and go.

FLEXIBILITY With a Mini Moon, you’re not tied to a strict itinerary. Want to sleep in, order room service, and binge watch your fave shows together? Go for it. Prefer to explore a nearby city? That works too. It’s all about what feels right for you two.

Think of the Mini Moon as the honeymoon’s cooler, more laidback sibling.

INSTANT GRATIFICATION Sometimes, waiting months for a big honeymoon isn’t ideal. A Mini Moon lets you enjoy that Just Married glow ASAP, giving you a taste of honeymoon vibes right after your big day.

What to Know Before You Book a Mini Moon

Why You Should Consider a Mini Moon

BUDGET FRIENDLY BLISS Weddings can be pricey, and not everyone has the funds for a lavish honeymoon right after the Big Day. Mini Moons allow you to celebrate your love without breaking the bank, giving you time to save up for a bigger trip down the line.

LESS STRESS After the whirlwind of wedding festivities, a Mini Moon offers a low-

DISTANCE MATTERS To maximize your relaxation time, choose a destination that’s within a few hours’ drive or a short flight. The goal is to spend more time sipping cocktails or relaxing and less time in transit.

SET CLEAR EXPECTATIONS Discuss with your partner whether the Mini Moon is a standalone trip or a precursor to a longer honeymoon later on. Being on the same page avoids any post-wedding misunderstandings.

PERSONALIZE IT Whether it’s a cozy cabin in the woods, a chic city hotel, or a beachfront bungalow, pick a spot that resonates with both of you. This is your time to celebrate your love story.

So WHERE TO?

Ready to plan? Here are some Tulle-approved MINI MOON spots that offer maximum ROMANCE with minimal TRAVEL fuss.

Savannah, Georgia

Napa Valley, California

With its cobblestone streets, historic charm, and drool-worthy Southern cuisine, Savannah is perfect for couples seeking a blend of culture and coziness.

Lake Tahoe

Whether you’re into skiing, hiking, or simply cuddling by the fire, Lake Tahoe‘s stunning scenery provides a dreamy backdrop for your Mini Moon.

For wine lovers, Napa offers rolling vineyards, luxurious spas, and gourmet dining— all just a short drive from San Francisco. Sip, savor, and soak in the romance.

Ojai, California

Nestled in a valley, Ojai offers bohemian vibes, boutique hotels, and rejuvenating spa experiences, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and connection.

Aspen, Colorado

If you’re a fan of mountain views, luxury lodges, and maybe a bit of celeb spotting, Aspen offers a chic retreat no matter the season.

Charleston, South Carolina

Think pastelcolored homes, horse-drawn carriages, and waterfront sunsets. Charleston‘s romantic ambiance is straight out of a Nicholas Sparks novel.

Todos Santos, Mexico

Miami Beach, Florida

For those craving sun, sand, and vibrant nightlife, Miami Beach delivers with its beautiful beaches and Latin flair. Stay at the design-centric Faena Hotel for a luxurious experience.

A sleepy coastal town on Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula, Todos Santos is a nature lover’s paradise with ocean breezes and ample opportunities for activities like surfing and horseback riding.

Anna &Will

CABO SAN LUCAS, MEXICO

Anna and Will first met during their second year at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, introduced by mutual friends. Their friendship deepened as they shared classes, worked out together, and experienced college life side by side. A semester abroad in Florence and supporting one another through the job recruitment process only strengthened their bond, carrying them first to New York City, then Dallas, and finally San Francisco in 2021. Later that year, during a weekend in Napa Valley, Will proposed, marking the beginning of many wine-tasting adventures together. For their wedding, the couple envisioned an outdoor celebration that felt relaxed, elegant,

and connected to its surroundings. When they visited Esperanza in Cabo San Lucas, the tiered cliffs at Cocina del Mar immediately felt like the perfect setting. Inspired by the natural tones of the sea, sand, and surrounding landscape, Anna and Will worked with Dani Blasena and her team at HauteFêtes to bring their vision to life. The weekend unfolded exactly as they hoped: a beachside welcome party with spicy margaritas, a serene ceremony on Esperanza’s private shore, and a cliffside reception that began with a bright pink gazpacho starter and led into a lively dance party by the ocean, complete with DJ and saxophone.

Stephanie &Tye

MALLORCA, SPAIN

Some chance encounters change everything. For Stephanie and Tye, it was an evening at New York City’s Rose Bar inside the Gramercy Park Hotel that began their story. She was out with a girlfriend, he with friends of his own, and what started as casual conversation soon grew into a lasting connection. Years later, on the first night of a two-week trip to Greece, Tye completely surprised Stephanie with a proposal at Mystique in Santorini. They spent the next morning exploring the island newly engaged, savoring the moment together before sharing the news with loved ones. When it came time to plan their wedding, Stephanie envisioned a destination celebration where friends and family could both witness their vows and create memories

themselves. Spain, a place she had loved since her time studying abroad, felt like the perfect choice and Mallorca’s historic Son Marroig quickly captured their hearts. The 17th-century estate offered sweeping views reminiscent of their engagement in Santorini, while its grandeur and history provided the ideal backdrop for an intimate celebration with sixty guests. As an interior designer, Stephanie placed special emphasis on the aesthetic, working with Luisa of Cygnus Events and Helena of Enesencia Designs to create a wedding that reflected both the setting and her personal style. From thoughtful details like Le Labo candles in the restrooms to a reception infused with Spanish flair, every element felt both intentional and unforgettable.

GARDEN of LOVE

Surrounded by a meadow of 20,000 WHITE ROSES, Sammi and Matt’s LAKE COMO wedding unfolded from timeless ceremony to starry-night celebration.

Few weddings embody transformation quite like Sammi and Matt’s Villa Balbiano celebration, where day turned to night in a celebration as breathtaking as its setting. Guests entered through the villa’s historic gates to Aperol spritzes and the sounds of a piano and string trio, setting the tone for an Italian fête of romance and refinement. The ceremony was extraordinary: an ethereal aisle of 20,000 white rose stems, planted one by one to form a meadow that seemed to rise naturally from the lakeside estate. Within this floral dreamscape, Sammi—escorted by her father—met Matt at the center, surrounded by their closest family and friends. A confidante officiated with heartfelt words, vows were exchanged, and not a dry eye remained as the couple be-

came husband and wife. The roses became more than a backdrop; they were the foundation of the design. After the ceremony, the lush meadow was transformed into an extended dining experience, with a single long table stretching the length of the aisle. Custom details elevated the setting at every turn, including linen-bound menu folios with handwritten notes, embroidered napkins with the couple’s crest, mother-ofpearl flatware, and candlelight flickering among another layer of blooms. As the sun set and the waterfront villa shifted into reception mode, yet another unique element took shape— a starry-night lighting design that reflected thousands of twinkling lights across mirrored disco globes, echoing the unforgettable sky above Lake Como.

Rachael &Joe

SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA

What began as a chance encounter by the apartment pool soon turned into something much more. After hours of easy conversation, Joe asked for Rachael’s number, and by that weekend, they were on their first date. In the years that followed, the couple’s story unfolded with countless shared adventures— many on horseback, a pastime Rachael had loved since childhood. So when Joe decided it was time to propose, he planned a sunset ride along the beach in Santa Barbara. At the end of the trail, with a hidden photographer and a picnic waiting, he got down on one knee. It then felt only natural to return to Santa Barbara for the wedding itself. The couple envisioned a celebration that blended the coastal romance of the city with the magic of an ethereal garden. The Montecito Club

offered both and on their wedding day, blue skies stretched overhead, a gift of sunshine just one day before a hurricane swept through. The heartfelt ceremony was led by Joe’s uncle and featured personal vows, poetry, and scripture read by loved ones. Rachael walked down the aisle in the ivory gown that had brought her mother to tears, complete with a flowing veil and delicate details that made her feel like a princess. From there, guests stepped into a reception transformed by climbing greenery, hanging floral installations, and blush-toned blooms. With a string quartet during cocktail hour, a martini bar serving espresso martinis, and a dance floor that stayed full well into the night, the evening was a joyful expression of the couple’s vision.

Carson &Vince

CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA

Carson and Vince’s story began in high school, where a friendship blossomed into romance during their junior year. They stayed together through college and law school before ultimately settling in North Carolina. More than a decade later, Vince proposed during a hike in a local park, their beloved dog Indy at their side. When it came to planning their wedding, the couple drew inspiration from a spring garden in full bloom, weaving flowers throughout the day— from cascading arrangements on the tables to a dramatic chandelier overhead. Even Carson’s Mira Zwillinger gown, discovered during a trunk show in Chicago, featured delicate embroidery

that echoed the theme beautifully. After exchanging private vows during their first look, Carson and Vince joined loved ones under a clear Carolina sky, with music from a string quartet filling the air. At the reception, personal touches reflected both of their personalities: Indy inspired a latenight espresso martini bar—complete with custom napkins featuring her face—while Vince’s one request, a cigar bar, created a cozy after-hours lounge. Every element was layered with meaning and designed to be unforgettable— an evening friends and family still recall long after the last song played.

As a sentimental touch, the officiant and close friend stitched a tiny blue “R” inside the dress for Carson’s something blue

A tender first look with her father—a stay-at-home dad—was especially meaningful for Carson as his youngest and last to be married

The couple buried a bottle of bourbon at their ceremony site 30 days before the wedding and on the morning of, stormy skies cleared as if on cue.
Carson and Vince shared a first dance to Brad Paisley’s Then, the song that played in Vince’s truck the night they first said “I love you.”

Lara &Nick

STELLENBOSCH, SOUTH AFRICA

Sometimes love is about timing. Lara and Nick first met through friends nearly a decade ago, exchanging little more than polite hellos when they crossed paths at casual gatherings. It wasn’t until ten years later, at a party, that fate intervened and this time, the spark was undeniable. From that night on, they spoke every single day, a love story unfolding in its perfect moment. That sense of divine timing carried into their wedding, a celebration as intentional as it was breathtaking. Lara, a restaurateur with an eye for design, infused each element with meaning. The ceremony opened with ballerinas leading her down the aisle, and the music—an exquisite blend of Ave Maria and an Islamic prayer—moved guests to tears as it honored both faiths. Nick added his own surprise, delivering part of his vows in Ar-

abic, Lara’s native language, a gesture that filled the room with laughter, pride, and love. Rather than disappearing for photos, they shared a private first look in a garden villa, grounding themselves before joining their guests. At the reception, the couple emphasized connection. A vintage-style telephone at the bar invited guests to leave voicemail messages, a living time capsule of the evening that grew more entertaining as the hours passed. From personalized chocolates to disco dancers, every touch was designed to spark emotion, reflecting Lara and Nick’s passion for crafting experiences that linger long after the day is done. For them, the wedding wasn’t about a single detail, but how everything came together to tell their story: a day brimming with the harmony of two worlds becoming one.

Stephanie &Nick

NORTH GARDEN, VIRGINIA

At a college housewarming party, a glance across the room and a quick introduction was all it took for Stephanie and Nick to begin a connection that would grow into a lasting love. Eight years later, Nick created a proposal that felt as personal as it was magical: their New York apartment glowing with candles, Juilliard musicians playing from the living room, and a ring designed by Stephanie’s mother waiting on the patio. For their wedding, Stephanie envisioned a summer celebration brimming with greenery and romance— something between a garden party and a fairytale. Pippin Hill, with its vineyard views and the Blue Ridge Mountains beyond, captured the vision instantly. Drawing from

the natural tones of Virginia’s landscape and Stephanie’s love of the Bridgerton aesthetic, the day unfolded like an enchanted garden in full bloom as the couple exchanged vows beneath a flower-draped chuppah and family tallit. Cocktails on the lawn gave way to a dinner of burrata with heirloom tomatoes, strip steak, and sea bass— a feast that reflected the couple’s love of food. Siblings, friends, and Stephanie’s father offered heartfelt toasts before the dance floor came alive to a bandDJ hybrid that blended Middle Eastern tradition with modern beats. As twilight fell over the mountains, Stephanie and Nick’s vision of an elevated summer garden party was complete.

BLOOM

Amelia and Harrison’s NEW SOUTH WALES wedding flowed from garden ceremony to marquee dinner set beneath towering PEAR TREES on their family’s EVERGREEN estate.

Set on the bride’s family estate in Mittagong, Amelia and Harrison’s December wedding embraced the natural beauty of the Australian countryside. The ceremony unfolded in the garden, where guests gathered beneath sage umbrellas as vows were exchanged among pots of lush, overflowing florals. The setting struck a balance of ease and elegance, with the family property lending a sense of intimacy that made the day feel unmistakably theirs. At Osborn House, Amelia shared a morning with her bridesmaids before stepping into her Elie Saab gown from Helen Rodrigues. Afterward, cocktails were served poolside, where the relaxed atmosphere carried into lively conversation and music as the sun began to set. Guests then made their way to a

marquee framed by towering pear trees, its interiors dressed in forest green and white. Subtle tones of purple, cream, lemon, and pink wove through the florals, softening the design and adding layers of color that felt both seasonal and timeless. As the reception began, a light rain fell, but it only added to the magic— umbrellas were handed out, laughter carried on, and even a rainbow appeared, captured beautifully in photos. Candlelight glowed against the canvas walls of the marquee, heightening the sense of romance as dancing continued into the night. It was a day that balanced personal touches with organic elegance— a celebration rooted in family, framed by nature, and marked by moments the couple will carry with them always.
