Dual Degree Opportunities Earn two degrees in an accelerated timeframe and at a reduced cost. As a Dual Degree student, you will graduate with an MS degree from Tufts Gordon Institute as well as an MS degree offered by one of the six academic departments within Tufts School of Engineering such as: mechanical engineering, computer science, software systems development, and more.

Innovator’s Mindset: The Innovator’s Mindset series is an opportunity for MSIM students to meet and learn from local, cutting-edge leaders and innovators in the Boston area through field trips, speaker visits, and workshops. The CLP is an individual, student-led project that will demonstrate your newfound business acumen and leadership skills in a real business setting with the support of an advising faculty member.

Immersive Experiences: Open to the Tufts Gordon Institute community, Immersive Experiences allow you to explore different topics while earning graduate credit in an in-person, accelerated, weekend-long course. Topics will range from innovation and entrepreneurship to business analytics and marketing.


I’m continuing to lead my subsection and be a core team member to this day. My confidence in managing higher level projects has certainly increased as a result, and I’ve gained new skills in project management and increased my business acumen.

CO-OP OPPORTUNITIES Gain up to six months of full-time work experience, build your resume, and develop a competitive advantage for postgraduation employment through the School of Engineering’s Graduate Cooperative Education (Co-Op) Program. The Co-Op program provides students the opportunity to explore career paths, make valuable industry connections, broaden their perspectives, and acquire the skills needed to succeed outside of the classroom. The co-op is open to students in all of Tufts Gordon Institute’s graduate programs.

TUFTS 5TH YEAR PROGRAM If you are a Tufts undergraduate student, you can earn your MS degree in as little as 9 months or at your own pace! All Tufts Gordon Institute graduate programs are eligible for the Tufts School of Engineering’s Fifth-Year Master’s Degree Program (BS/MS). Students enroll full-time or part-time while participating in the master’s degree portion of the Fifth-Year program, but must enroll immediately after completion of their BS degree. This program is open to Tufts University undergraduate Juniors and Seniors. Learn more about this program:

MS BRIDGE PROGRAM AT TUFTS Tufts School of Engineering offers undergraduate students and alumni from select institutions (Lafayette College, Olin College, Smith College, Union College, and Wellesley College) a streamlined application process and tuition scholarship in a wide range of programs. All Tufts Gordon Institute graduate programs and Dual Degree options are eligible for the MS Bridge Program at Tufts.

Tufts Venture Accelerator: The Tufts Venture Accelerator is a summer venture accelerator, run by the Derby Entrepreneurship Center at Tufts, that provides structure, accountability, educational experiences, and more for entrepreneurs who are building a venture. This program is a popular option for MSIM students who want to continue their venture during the summer semester.


Connecting to an Ecosystem As a student at Tufts, you will have access to the Auster Center for Applied Innovation Research (AIR). The AIR Center is dedicated to advancing our understanding of how innovation can be fostered, translated, and applied to do good in the world. This will be accomplished through supporting and funding Tufts faculty and students to conduct research to explore novel ways to solve problems and achieve impact through applied innovation.

Participate in events, competitions, and tools provided by The Derby Entrepreneurship Center (DEC) at Tufts; the University’s hub for entrepreneurship. DEC strives to develop an entrepreneurial mindset among Tufts students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the wider Boston community. DEC runs the Tufts $100k New Ventures Competition every Spring semester; the flagship venture competition at Tufts, and many other exciting events and opportunities!
