MOVING IN THE COMING MONTHS?
Consider preparing early to help reduce stress and last-minute surprises.
• Talk with your property management early about key pick-up and other move-in instructions
• Create a plan with roommates for furniture, kitchen items, cleaning supplies, and other shared expenses.
• Begin collecting moving supplies now like boxes, tape, and labels.
• Sort your items for anything you may want to donate or dispose of.
• Plan ahead for utility setup such as electricity, internet, and renters insurance.
• Set aside a moving budget for deposits, fees, movers, gas, or storage expenses.

STAYING IN LUBBOCK FOR THE SUMMER?
Summer can be a great opportunity to refresh your space and take care of small issues before the busy fall semester begins.
• Deep clean shared spaces like kitchens, bathrooms, and living rooms while schedules may be quieter.
• Report maintenance concerns early such as leaks, appliance issues, or pest concerns before fall move-in season becomes busier.
• Revisit expectations with roommates for guests, shared supplies, cleaning responsibilities, or utility/rent payments during the summer.
• Use the slower summer pace to refresh your space by reorganizing your room, donating items you no longer use, and getting rid of clutter before the fall semester begins.
• Consider purchasing apartment essentials early before stores become busier during back-to-school season.
TIP: Use the change of pace the summer brings as an opportunity to explore Lubbock and stay connected through campus and community events.
AWAY FOR THE SUMMER?
Even while away from Lubbock, summer can be a great time to prepare for a smoother return in the fall semester.
• Check your email regularly for communication from your property, roommates, or campus offices.
• Take advantage of summer sales on apartment essentials before back-toschool shopping ramps up later in the summer.
• Start thinking about your fall routine early including parking, commuting, class schedules, or roommate expectations.
• Review parking, utility, or move-in requirements ahead of August to avoid last-minute surprises.
• Confirm your move-in details for August including time windows, check-in instructions, and any required documentation from your property.
