It beats asking Mom or Dad for cash That is the main reason why most high school students obtain a job, even if it does cut into your weekend plans. Getting that paycheck and then spending it with in five minuets at the mall is the best part of having a job . There' always a good tory to tell about work, like getting locked in the freezer, wrapping a fellow employee in plastic wrap, getting pelted with stale bread , or watching AP run frantically around the store. The down side is having to deal with complaning costumers about every discomfort they have and also having to clean the restroom . Then there is always training the new guy, who ha no idea what they are doing. Then you remember that you where the same way when you started working there But if you are one of those working high school student who has had four jobs in the last year because the hours at your Ia t job didn't apply to your work schedule, you disliked working there, the pay wasn't what you expected, or you didn't like the manager, than you're alway the new guy. Either way you still bring home a paycheck o your parents let you have the car Friday night.

Whether it's a date for a dance or just hanging out after school, relationships at Seton High are far and wide! When asked, many people would agree that high school relationships mostly consist of Friday and Saturday night dates, but sometimes there's the occasional couple that make it to more than that. Two-thirds of people at Seton Catholic agree that the school's rules on PDA are appropriate for Catholic school students.

Most people think of break as a good use of time but some think otherwise ... A survey was taken to determine exactly how students are using their break.

Flying food, monstrous lines, crowded tables, smiling faces, "White Knight" detention sprees, and crazy games created by senior boys are all typical scenes during lunchtime at Seton. Lunch is the time for students to let their brains rest, be noisy, and get energy to help them survive the last few classes of the day. Many people choose to unwind by just chatting with friends wherever they eat lunch or meandering around the campus, while others, such as seniors Matt Carpenter, Joey Casillas, and Thomas Cravner, prefer to invent new games such as "hackeyjug" to entertain themselves. No matter who you are or what you're doing, everyone seems to agree that lunch is the best part of the school day!

Priscilla Brandon and Kristen Johnson joke and laugh with their friends while finishing the sumptuous Subway meals before them. "Lunch is my favorite part of the day. I'm so happy that I've got such good friends to share it with:' says Priscilla.

Many sophomores, along with a few juniors, gather outside of the North end of the 8 building for their lunch. When asked why they choose to eat there they all unanimously said it was because not many other people are around and they don't have to sit inside the stuffy, overcrowded cafeteria.

Thursday : Hawaiian Day!

Senoir Joe Bryant, Junior Matt Kim, Sophmore Sara Lambert, and Freshman Colleen Tighe battled it out in the pineapple eating contest, but Colleen ate her way to the top. Joe Bryant didrt know what he was getting into though, I got real pumped to get to those pineapples, but then I realized I never had any before. Boy was I in for a suprise!

The senior and junior boys battled it out for the title of Boys Volleyball Champions! The senior boys put up a good fight but the junior boys came out victorious. Seton Catholic High School Chapel and Church

Sports, activities, friends--they all help to define ourselves and our high school experience. Ultimately, however, we are a Catholic school--and Seton provides plenty of opportunity to help students celebrate God. Students gather in prayer and celebration once a month at the all school mass, prepared by the liturgical arts class. In addition, students are given the opportunity several times a week--especially

every Tuesday--to celebrat lunch mass. Mrs. Graham, our campus mini ter, organizes all the Seton Catholic High School masse as well as adoration on Friday's, prayer services, and reconciliation. Mrs. Graham is an all-around wonderful campus minister. In her first year, she has helped the many Seton students grow in thei relationship with God.

From Homo sapiens to calculating the speed of how fast a car can go, to expenmenting how chemicals react to each other, to knowing the bones in your body. What do these have to do w1th anything? You learn them all in your Science class .

It's the only class where you can use a m1croscope , or that contains an emergency shower in the back of the room. Seton Catholic has been blessed to have a dynamic staff, but they ' re not as boring or as mundane as students may think they are. They enjoy many things we never would have guessed. Some of them, like Mr. Relph, are potters. While others, like the Burkes, enjoy paddling thousands of miles in a canoe. Also, many of them listen to surprisingly good music. Mr. Richard is renowned for playing all of the best oldies and offering extra credit to anyone who can guess his estranged facts on bands. Or we have Dr. Hobbs, the old-skool punk-rocker, whose room you can go to for all the greatest music. There are also many surprising interests such as Mrs. McGuinness ' who shares Dr. Hobbs's love for The Clash. And who would've guessed that people like Mr. Kedrowski had such odd jobs as changing light bulbs?

These girls worked very hard throughout the whole year to support their teams while also getting ready for competitions. The JV team has come a long way from the start of the season. With their positive attitudes and hard work, these cheerleaders have helped to build Seton spirit. Thanks to Coach Evie Chavez they have made Seton history by competing in local competitions. The JV Competition Team made it to the top by placing first at the ASA Spirit Competition at the Sundome.

The Seton Catholic girls' varsity basketball team made their mark this year. They did not accomplish their ultimate goal of a state championship, but that does not take away from everything they did achieve. The girls came out strong by getting second place in the Winslow tournament and the team progressed throughout the year. They won region for the 13th year in a row. The team lost to Winslow in the state champiobship game and became the 3A state runners-up. Seniors Christina Wirth, Meghan Mullin, Rachel Arnold, Laura Tessier, and Christine Randolph will all be greatly missed but they are leaving the team in good hands and know that the underclassmen will work hard to accomplish the same goal next year.
