MAJOR IMPACT TRACK CLUB – TX Community Service IMPACT Project
WHY: MITC is more than just a track club. One of our missions is to make a positive impact on the community. This spring, we will fulfill this mission by serving the homeless by 1) providing lunch meal service and clean up); 2) assist with organizing the donations closet and distributing hygiene products; and 3) making in-kind and monetary donations.
MITC families (adults and athletes) are invited to participate. VOLUNTEER SERVICE HOURS FORMS are available to students upon request.

ODBD’s Mission: Our Daily Bread feeds, shelters, and cares for the homeless and at-risk in our community while maintaining the dignity of our guests and offering opportunities for a new start.
Date: Sunday, 31 May 2026
Time: 8a-1:30p
Attire: long pants, short or long-sleeved shirts, and closed-toed shoes.
Group Size: We need approximately 16–20 people (parents, athletes, adults); athletes under 16yrs must be accompanied by an adult)
Service Options/Shifts:
a) Hygiene Closet (1-2 athletes/youth): 10a-1p (sort and manage distribution of hygiene products to the community) – athletes/youth
Sort Incoming Donations (4–6 athletes/youth): Must be able to lift 15–20 lbs Sort and organize clothes, food, and miscellaneous items
b) Meal Service/Lunch (adults): Prep: 8:00a – 11:30s ; Serve:11:30a – 1:00p
Kitchen Duties (16 total):
Line servers: 4 - FILLED
Food prep: 3-4
Cleaning crew: Dishwashers (2), General cleaning (3)
Dining room attendants: 3

Rules:
1. You must be 16 or older to volunteer without a parent/guardian.
2. Food preparation, serving, and dishwashing are reserved only for volunteers 16 years of age or older in compliance with law and safety regulations.
3. The guardian must be with the child the entire volunteer experience, including accompanying the child to the restroom.
JOB DESCRIPTIONS
10:00AM - Dining Area Attendant (1-3 Individuals)
Responsible for clearing food trays from tables and wiping down tables and chairs in the dining area after guests have eaten. Will also assist mobility-impaired guests return trays to dish washing area.
9:00AM - Dishwashing (1-2 individuals)
Process returned used trays, cups and utensils through the dishwasher and transfer to the drying rack.
9:00AM - Hygiene Closet (1-2 Individuals)
Distribute hygiene supplies to guests and document services provided on iPad. Staff will provide training on how to complete the services provided form on the iPad on the day of service.
9:00AM - Receive and Organize Donations (4-6 individuals)
Volunteers will be responsible for receiving, documenting, ad processing incoming donations. Volunteers may also organize donations that have arrived the day and night before. If time allows volunteers may refold clothes in bins, reorganize donation bins, take out recycling, and clean the receiving area.
11:00AM - Meal Service 4-5 Individuals
Volunteers will serve meals to guests through the food line. The process uses food trays that are passed along the food line and provided to guests. Volunteers will have the opportunity to interact with guests. Lunch meal service lasts for 1.5 hours. Meal servers will break down and clean the food service line once the meal service has ended.
