Schrüttensee Lakes
For anyone seeking alpine tranquillity in its most authentic form, this hike is a true hidden gem. The route leads to the scenic Schrüttensee Lakes, two high-altitude lakes with emerald-green waters set among shady forests and rocky slopes.

Transfer: the starting point, the Steinwendt parking area, can be reached in approximately 40 minutes by the Santre shuttle. The hotel provides an 8-SEATER SHUTTLE; if there are more participants, the starting point can also be reached in your own car.

Route description
The hike begins at the Steinwendt parking area (1450 m), in the upper part of Valle di Scaleres, in the municipality of Varna. From here, follow well-marked trail no. 2, which climbs steadily alongside Scaleres stream and through atmospheric forests of Swiss stone pine and Norway spruce. On reaching a clearing, the Great Schrüttensee Lake (1957 m) comes into view, surrounded by an unspoilt landscape that invites you to pause and enjoy the silence of the mountains.
