September 11, 2016 Dear DuPage Volunteers & Donors, This year, join us in celebrating the 15-Year Anniversary of Giving DuPage, started by local philanthropists who felt the DuPage community was unaware of the ways to share their time, treasure and talent in support of a local cause. Initially called the DuPage Philanthropy Project, the Giving DuPage mission was to promote giving and volunteering in DuPage County. The name changed, but we continue to connect volunteers and donors to DuPage organizations every single day.

The guide’s publication date also marks another, more solemn, 15-year anniversary in our nation’s history – the tragic events of 9/11. In response to, and also as a reflection of our resilient character, hundreds of community members called Giving DuPage, asking to serve. Evident in our founding year, the generosity of the DuPage community remains a hallmark of our civic character.

To inform and serve the public, Giving DuPage proudly presents the 14th Annual Giving Guide, the DuPage County Volunteering Resource Guide. The guide lists local nonprofit organizations, with over 300 giving opportunities. More volunteer and in-kind donation needs, as well as jobs and events, are posted online at the Volunteer Portal – givingdupage.org, all searchable by cause, keywords or geography.
