“The National NAIDOC Week Awards Ceremony is the premiere event of National NAIDOC Week,” he said.

“The Committee is proud to share this celebration with ABC audiences.”

ABC Managing Director David Anderson said the Week was an opportunity to be involved, learn and celebrate the continued history, culture, excellence and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the country. The ABC will release its full NAIDOC Week content schedule in coming weeks.

Applications open for Queensland Day sponsorship Program

The 2024 Queensland Day Sponsorship Program is now open for funding applications of up to $15,000 for events and initiatives dedicated to celebrating Queensland’s birthday on 6 June. Queensland Day is an opportunity for communities to come together and share Queensland’s unique culture and heritage and celebrate everything that is great about being a Queenslander.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said festivals, parades and family fun days were just some of the events held around the state to mark Queensland Day each year.

Applications for the 2024 Queensland Day Sponsorship Program close at 5pm on Thursday 31 August 2023. Events can be held between 1 to 9 June 2024. For more information visit the Queensland Day website at www.qld.gov.au/queenslandday
