As leaders of the Lower School, Fifth Graders experience a year of significant personal and academic growth. They model leadership during Town Meetings and activities with their younger buddies while preparing for the increased academic workload, responsibility, and organizational demands of middle school. Teachers promote independence and responsible decision-making through project-based, inquiry-driven, and reciprocal learning experiences.

At Harford Day, our Lower School provides an engaging, enriched educational experience that nurtures the whole child academically, socially, emotionally, and creatively. Our expert faculty foster curiosity, confidence, and a genuine love of learning while challenging students to take intellectual risks, ask thoughtful questions, and become resourceful, independent learners.
