Indian diplomat’s daughter sues NYC for $1.5 M over unlawful arrest Even as India has taken up the matter with the US, attorney Ravi Batra wants Mayor to give key to the city to plaintiff Krittika Biswas to amend the pain inflicted upon her by the school system and police. By Parveen Chopra New York: Eminent attorney Ravi Batra announced at a press conference Tuesday attended by the mainstream and the Indian ethnic media that his client, Indian diplomat’s teenage daughter Krittika Biswas is suing New York City for a whopping $1.5 M because she was falsely arrested in a cyberbullying case despite her diplomatic immunity, denied access the Indian consulate, and was suspended for a month from her school in Queens despite the district attorney exonerating her and expunging her arrest record. The wide coverage in the US as well as the Indian press to Krittika’s abominable treatment has since been reverberating in New Delhi and Washington. The Indian government has “very seriously” taken up the matter with the US even as the US state department claimed that family members of diplomats do not enjoy immunity. Unsealed papers in Rana trial show ISI stamp on 26/11 Chicago: The Pakistani intelligence agency ISI was more in control of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks operation in 2008 than was earlier known, show US prosecution case ordered unsealed on Wednesday by a Chicago court trying Tahawwur Rana. David Coleman Headley, who is deposing in the trial as a government witness was met with by Major Iqbal — an ISI operative — after every visit to India. In fact, the two met before Headley could meet his Lashkar-e-Taiba handlers.
