Workman, Moran win Ache Around the Lake The annual Ache Around the Lake run at Lake Lanier Saturday, Sept. 24 attracted crowds of runners, some taking part in the 8k (4.97-mile) Ache course, which is USATF-certified and
has many inclines and switchbacks, and some in the 2-mile Ouch fun run. Proceeds from this year’s event go to support the St. Luke’s Hospital Foundation’s efforts
to raise dollars toward the purchase of an Omnicell One-cell Omnisupplier for Anesthesia for the hospital. (Continued on page 3)
The Polk County Republican Party breaks ground today on its new headquarters in Columbus. An event will be held at noon at 33 Peak Street in Columbus. The event will include a chance for community members to meet Republican Party members and project contractors, as well as enjoy refreshments and pizza.

All Polk towns will have early, one-stop voting No one-stop in S.C. by Leah Justice
The Town of Columbus, City of Saluda and Town of Tryon all decided to offer early, one-stop voting for this year’s municipal election. Early voting will begin Oct.
20 and end Nov. 5 in Polk County. No polling places will be set up, but registered voters can vote early at the Polk County Board of Elections, located in the Womack building opposite the courthouse in Columbus. The board of elections will be open for early voting Monday
Serving Polk County and Upper Spartanburg and Greenville Counties
through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. On Saturday, Nov. 5, board of elections will be open for early voting from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Absentee ballots for Polk voters will be available on Oct. 7 and (Continued on page 6)
