Hello Rural Water! I’d like give a hearty thanks to all the staff and members who participated in the legislative process during the past session. It takes a large number of people to assure our rural water interests are covered, and with everyone pulling together, we’re much better off. At the time of this writing, a special session has just began; however, we believe there shouldn’t be any legislation directly affecting our membership. Staff will be providing full updates on pertinent approved legislation from the session.

How good it is to be slowly working back to the old normal! Our attendance at conferences is rising, and the Training and Technical Conference in Galveston was back to historic attendance numbers. We look forward to seeing everyone this fall at the Management and Districts conferences.

I had a wonderful experience attending the NRWA Emergency Response training seminar held in Cedar Creek, Texas in May.

I was very pleased to bring several of our Mustang SUD response vehicles with equipment down to show off some of our capabilities. This was a great event which brought folks from around the country to Texas, and our staff did a great job putting it together. As we all found out last February, having emergency capability cannot be overstated. I encourage everyone to focus on even small steps you can take to help your

system be prepared for emergencies.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer and enjoying some vacations! Be safe, and I look forward to seeing everyone at an upcoming conference.

My regards,

Chris Boyd President TRWA
