This brand-new bar and restaurant can be found in Dublin 8, situated near the Guinness Brewery. The bar’s name pays homage to the coopers, skilled artisans who crafted wooden barrels. When Guinness transitioned to using metal kegs, they provided employment to the 400 coopers, tasking them with creating furniture for homeless people and housed them in the area. Therefore, the design of this bar serves as a tribute to the coopers and their exceptional craftsmanship.
Having skills akin to those of the coopers, Truwood was delighted to be a part of this project. Through the use of rich tones and oak finishes, we got to showcase our craftmanship and hopefully we’ve made the coopers proud!
Our scope of works included a mix of new and refurbishment works to the bar front and rear counter, feature tables and counters, metalworks with diamond mesh, signage, wine display units and condiments units.

Having first been awarded the fitted furniture package for Ballsbridge back in 2018, we have since gone on to supply specialist joinery for Cardiff Lane, Dublin; Red Bean Roastery, Dublin and most recently the Clayton Hotel, Cork.
Liaising closely with Douglas Wallace Architects, we worked on the public areas of the hotels and cafe. It was important that the design and joinery work reflected the Clayton Hotel brand with modern and colourful hotel foyers.
A strong emphasis was placed on high quality craftmanship by the design team and Truwood fulfilled their expectations.
The projects were all completed within a live hotel environment, and were delivered on time and within budget. Aside from working with all timber species and sheet materials, many of our finished products include a wide spectrum of materials including solid surfacing, marble, stone, metalworks, glass and upholstery.
