2026 Truth Publications Catalog

In 1955, Benjamin (Bennie) Lee Fudge had the desire and opportunity to bring Bible study books and resources to people in Athens, Alabama and beyond. He established the Christian Education Institute and began helping publish and provide Bible-based materials to Christians everywhere. This was shortened to C.E.I. and became known as the C.E.I. Store, C.E.I. Publishing, and C.E.I. Bookstore over the years.

At nearly the same time, Truth Magazine began publishing a periodical paper aimed at providing Biblical teaching on subjects of importance and interest to Christians. This publication, and the partnerships related to it, has grown to the more than 1,000 titles now available from Truth Publications, Inc.

Truth Publications, Inc. owns and operates CEI Bookstore, truthbooks.com, and all operating divisions from downtown Athens, AL. This is where we also have our retail storefront, warehouse, and corporate offices.

Truth Publications is a non-profit religious organization, meaning all profits generated from our efforts go toward the creation and publishing of more trustworthy, Biblebased material for Christians, churches, and everyone seeking to know God.

Truth Publications has engaged preachers, elders, deacons, teachers, song leaders, and faithful Christians to serve on our Board of Directors. This leadership carefully plans and reviews the work of our operating divisions while making every effort to ensure that the materials published are true to the standard of the Bible.

Through the years, the ownership and operations of both CEI Bookstore and Truth Publications has changed, but the purpose and mission of each entity has remained the same – to publish and provide Bible-based material that teaches God’s Word as revealed in the Holy Scriptures, the Bible.

Dear Customers, Suppliers, and Supporters,

On the night of December 28th, an EF1 tornado suddenly ripped through downtown Athens, AL leaving a signiﬁcant path of destruction. In its direct path was our historic CEI Bookstore building at 220 S. Marion Street. Thankfully, no one was in the building, and no one was harmed in our immediate area. Multiple buildings and businesses were hit and aﬀected by this natural disaster.

At CEI Bookstore we lost our entire roof, leaving debris inside the building while scattering roof pieces and debris all the way into the courthouse square and across the tops of other neighboring buildings. The storm/debris/rain damage meant the loss of more than 95% of our retail inventory and nearly all of our retail/oﬃce ﬁxtures and furnishings.

Our commitment was to restart after this devastation and continue serving you as soon as possible. We continued servicing orders from our website and by phone in the weeks right after the storm and greatly appreciate your patience as order fulﬁllment was slower in many cases as we rebuilt our inventory.

Now we are excited to announce we are open to the public in a new location!

The historic Estes & Sons building at 103 W. Washington Street in downtown Athens has become our new home. It took us most of February to get new ﬁxtures and furnishings ordered in and assembled – while we were also working to clear all the debris out of the damaged Marion Street building for other work to begin there. In early March, we began allowing local pickups as work continued to prepare the store for shopping. Finally, on March 17th we opened the doors on Washington Street to everyone.

We still have much to do to get inventory and all of your favorite shopping selections back in stock, but I assure you we are working every single day to make it happen as soon as possible.

So, please note our new location and send all correspondence and packages to this new address going forward.

As far as what happens next at the previous location on Marion Street, we will have to wait and see as decisions are made about the structure of the building and how it proceeds with either renovations or rebuilding. Stay connected and you will hear the latest on our continuing journey!
