God Trusting that you will all participate to the fullest in the revival of interest and intellectuality in “The Shiloh Chronicle” & “God’s Holy Prophets”.

This thought is certainly with me as I have been working on the creation of these two magazines. I hope that you will take the time to explore and discover what is inside those pages.

"The child is father of the man." This old biographical and historical truth, originated by Wordsworth at the beginning of the nineteenth century, has done service to young men till its close. But, like all maxims designed to express a general truth, it is liable to many exceptions. These exceptions, true they are, may do much to establish the truth of the general rule, and such is pre-eminently the case with the maxim above quoted.

GODLIKE CHARACTER It happens often in manhood that the traits of the character have been developed where in his youth his friends would have never expected.

It is also true that the characteristics that are prominently manifested in his youth fail to develop themselves when he becomes a man.

But wherever this has been the case it has been done through the natural order, the result and no doubt the conditions and the environments which have changed the disposition of that boy and what has been produced.

It is still generally true that the man reaps from the sowing of his youth; though there are many causes that may operate between seed time and harvest a diseased belief can be changed to one that improves the outcome of the man in his future. “Manhood reaps from childhood’s seed.” t is worthy of belief that no matter what changes may be wrought during the period of growth, most of the characteristics encouraged early in life have developed and strengthened to its close The habits that are formed in youth become the seasoned nature over time and age. While it is true that habits may be changed; manhood's nature is almost irrevocably fixed.

The purpose of the series of articles that will come in the Newsletters ahead are meant and designed to depict the predominant traits in the character of the youthful which exist in some of the world’s greatest personages.

Showing forth the disease that results or the results that follow the fulfilled soul. In truth, either the man will overcome his evil tendencies that were formed in his youthful character, either the man will be conquered by his vicissitudes, or he will submit to the truth that he needs help and change. He will either accept his duties as a man, or he will neglect them.

There is not a character in a man out there that has been chosen by that man, who from his youth into manhood, it has not been marked with strong tendencies either leaning towards the side of good or the side of evil. when an artist paints or draws his piece, it is intended that all of the lights and shades of each picture will be strongly drawn. But this would be impossible if the artist did not first make clear-cut and prominent shades upon the features of that subject.

GODLIKE CHARACTER It takes more than biology to make a man. Many males never progress beyond boyhood. They can’t see beyond themselves.

Manhood is a choice. It is using your strength to help and protect others. It’s about having the courage to face every day and take responsibility. It’s waking up every morning and choosing to do difficult things, simply because it is right that they be done.

It is sticking by a commitment even to your own detriment and knowing that not making commitments lightly. It’s wanting the best for others, without envy and expecting nothing in return.

MANHOOD TIPS

VIRTUES OF MEN

It will be the aim to hold up the virtues of men for study, veneration and emulation; and wherever it is necessary to portray their vices, these will be presented merely for the purpose of contrast: for deprecation, scorn and avoidance.

As in a picture the light is rendered all the brighter by contrast with the surrounding darkness, so shall virtue appear the brighter by being set in contrast with vice. Life is a struggle of opposites.

The Nephite prophet who tells us that "there must needs be an opposition in all things," merely states a religious and philosophical truth, applicable as much to the career of men as to the progress of the world

DISCCOVER THE WONDERS OF MANHOOD

Our virtue consists not so much in avoiding the struggle with evil as in overcoming it; strength is gained and tested not so much by evading an opponent as by wrestling with and throwing him. Men in whom strength of good qualities is most marked have had the greatest evils to contend with.

Great endowments always imply strong temptations, but not always marked powers of resistance.

This is true, which will be frequently illustrated in upcoming Newsletters, that many men with the brightest youthful promise, have sadly allowed their evil passions to quench their energies of soul and defeat their noble aspirations.

GODLIKE CHARACTER These pages are intended for the young men as an incentive and warning. It is a mark of excellence as well as a signal of danger, it is a recital of reward as well as an account of retribution. It is the greatest desire of my heart as the writer that this may serve the purpose of awakening the sluggish soul to renewed determination, of arousing the tempted spirit to an appreciation of its powers of resistance to evil.

Many young people are not fully aware of the powers within them. The struggle for excellence is often awakened in the heart and soul of a young man by the reading of the successes of another. To know one's power is to exercise it; a person often discovers his strength through the power of another.

In the strong desire for the material elements in knowledge, it is good for the mind to be occasionally turned to a diligent search after the no less valuable, though much less appreciated, pursuit of "mind and morals." the Greek philosopher once said; "Man, know thyself." May I add some words of councel that are just as important, "Learn to know the inmost souls of others."

Manhood is often misconstrued by societal norms and transcends traditional stereotypes. It encompasses a blend of traits, embracing emotional intelligence, resilience, and empathy. Manhood involves not only the demonstration of strength but also the willingness to show vulnerability and express emotions openly. It's the courage to stand firm in one's beliefs, while also nurturing a compassionate and understanding nature.

MANHOOD In a quiet village nestled among rolling hills, young Tomas yearned to embrace manhood. His father, a gentle soul, taught him that manhood isn't measured by might but by courage and integrity.

One summer day, a storm ravaged their land. Tomas led the villagers, forging ahead despite fear. He stood firm, shielding the frail, and guiding the lost. In that chaos, he found strength within vulnerability.

As the clouds parted, the village bore scars, yet hearts were touched. Tomas realized that manhood is in the humility to admit weaknesses, the fortitude to face adversities, and the compassion to uplift others.

In this realization, he became a man, not in the shadow of his father, but in the light of his own noble actions.
