More about our Supported Housing Development in the picturesque town of Stranraer
Dalrymple Court is located in the town of Stranraer, which is itself situated at the head of Loch Ryan in Wigtownshire, Dumfries & Galloway.
Dalrymple Court is a bright and sunny Supported Development, combining independent living with some support, and a warm and friendly environment. There are 17 one-bedroom flats and 21 studio flats, spread over three floors with a lift for accessibility. Each flat has fitted kitchen cabinets with space for white goods (customer’s own) and a shower wet room.
The bright and comfortable communal lounge is ideal for meeting with neighbours, welcoming visitors, and a place to gather together for social events. Dalrymple Court has a laundry area, with washing and drying facilities.
The development has a guest bedroom
with ensuite bathroom, available to visiting family members and friends, and charged at a rate of £20 per night.
Dalrymple Court also has an assisted bathroom for residents who need a little extra support in their personal care.
Wi-Fi is available throughout the development for residents and visitors.
Dalrymple Court has regular and seasonal activities, such as themed meal nights and Sunday lunches, bingo evenings and dominoes, to encourage residents to socialize.
The well-maintained courtyard is a welcome suntrap in all seasons and plays host to the development’s summer barbeques. Residents are encouraged to do a spot of gardening of their own, a great past time for a healthy mind and body!
Our colleagues are on site Monday-Sunday 8.00am-10.00pm. Staffing hours are clearly displayed in the development.
There is a secure entry system at the main door to the development. Each room in the flat is equipped with a pull-cord alarm linked to a call centre for emergency assistance. Every flat has a staff call system that connects directly to the development coordinator’s office.
A smoke alarm is installed in all our flats.
Stranraer has all the services and amenities that can be expected from one of the largest towns in Dumfries and Galloway, including excellent transport links nationwide, provided by rail, bus and coach.
The town’s waterfront location and recently renovated marina provide a variety of scenic walks and green spaces to explore and take in the sea air. A short distance from Stranraer are the Logan Botanical Gardens, located in Port Logan.
The town is home to Agnew Park with a choice of fun, year-round outdoor activities to enjoy with visiting family members. For those who prefer the indoors, the Ryan Centre offers a theatre, café, swimming pool, and fitness centre.
The closest cinema is located in Newton Stewart, a beautiful art deco building that also hosts a variety of music events to suit all tastes.
For those who have an interest in joining local clubs, Stranraer has a number to choose from, including bowling, curling, football and golf. And if something from the Arts is more your taste, there’s a music club, a pipe bank and the Stranraer Folk Club.
