Elder Street, Govan
More about our Retired Housing Development in Glasgow

Elder Street, Govan
Elder Street is situated in the bustling and historic Govan, just a stone’s throw from Elder Park and off Govan Road.
Our Elder Street development offers Retirement Housing, providing our tenants the comfort and reassurance of staff on site for part of the day, while maintaining their desire for independent living.
There are 28 one-bedroom flats, 2 twobedroom flats and 10 studio flats, spread over four floors with a lift for accessibility. Each flat has fitted kitchen cabinets with space for white goods (tenant’s own) and a shower wet room.
The spacious and comfortable communal lounge is ideal for meeting with neighbours, welcoming visitors, and a place to gather together for social events. Elder Street has a laundry area,
with washing and drying facilities and a separate storage space for mobility scooters.
The development has a two bedroom guest flat, one twin and one single, with a kitchen and bathroom. The flat is available to visiting family members and friends at a rate of £20 per night.
The extensive gardens are well maintained and can be enjoyed by all the tenants.
Wi-Fi is available throughout the development for residents and visitors.

Community Living
Residents at the development use the community lounge to meet up for tea and toast mornings, to socialise and stay in touch.
There are frequent and seasonal activities, such as bingo afternoons with tea and biscuits, and an entertainer with music and singing. Residents are encouraged to come up with their own ideas for socialising and plans for a fish supper and quiz night are in the works.
The extensive gardens are well maintained and can be enjoyed by all the residents, who are welcome to do a little gardening of their own.
Security
Our staff are on site Monday-Friday 8.00am3.30pm. Staffing hours are clearly displayed in the development.
There is a secure entry system at the main door to the development. Each room in the flat is equipped with a pull-cord alarm linked to a call centre for emergency assistance. Every flat has a staff call system that connects directly to the development coordinator’s office.
