EDITOR’S NOTE

With the arrival of June, we have reached the halfway point of the calendar year. How has the year gone for you so far? Are you able to meet the goals you set for your business at the beginning of the year? Are you pursuing any new business opportunities or establishing a niche in a certain sector of the pressure washing industry? What material are you feeding yourself so that you can be better educated for your work in the industry? Do you have any plans to build your network of relationships? So many questions to consider, and the pages of this issue of Cleaner Times will assist you in providing answers to some of these questions, so don’t hesitate to plunge ahead. On page 6 is an informative article, “How to Succeed in Fleet Washing.” Automation and efficient practices are encouraged, and Diane Calabrese writes, “Success in fleet washing derives from a commitment to ongoing review of the components of the business…” as well as tough cleaning in demanding environments. This tough cleaning is highlighted with two case studies. Turn to page 16 to read the first of these case studies by Nik Bibic of Ultimate Power Wash which addresses the challenge in fleet washing of maintaining cleanliness and vehicle presentation on fleet operations in demanding environments. Bibic shares, “An effective fleet washing program today focuses on using the right method at the right time rather than relying on a single approach for all conditions.” On page 28 Heath King of Quality Pressure Washing and Cleaning Services and Paul Laramee of Exquisite Finishes Power Washing share about the challenges in fleet washing caused when removing heavy grease buildup while staying within environmental guidelines. They share their approach to cleaning 75 tractor-trailers with heavy grease buildup and give details of their approach, results, and key insights. CETA shares important issues that are affecting the industry on page 12. CETA President Gus Alexander shares, “Education, training, and technical updates are critical for our members, keeping in mind participation is very important.” Plan to attend PowerClean 2026 in Orlando, FL, this October 8–11 to benefit from these opportunities. Cleaner Times wishes you the best and hopes June is a month of many accomplishments.
