PECIALISED WORK NEEDS SPECIALISED EQUIPMENT AND FOR Auckland’s Swanson Transport, one of its niche specialities is lifting into and onto long reaches. With a reach of 32 metres, its 10-wheeler crane
truck is a clever piece of engineering work that’s been managing a range of often unique jobs, thanks to its partnership with OTEL (Onehunga Transport Engineering Ltd). “This is our second 10-wheeler,” recalls Swanson Transport General Manager Nick Longuet-Higgins. “The first one was built in 2007, and it gave us more range with what we could do, especially with the long reach stuff: all the housing where you can’t get a truck in, so the reach is further back.
