ACCUPLACER Placement Exam______________ ACCUPLACER English and Math placement tests are required before students can register for a Math course or English composition course unless a student has previously taken a transferable Math course at another institution.

Students may register for MTH 0096 (Pre Algebra) without placement testing.

Testers must be admitted to Troy University and have a valid Student ID number in order to take the ACCUPLACER Placement Exam through Troy University.



A picture ID is required to take the ACCUPLACER Placement Exam.

Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Exam (CPCE) The Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Examination (CPCE) is designed to assess counseling students' knowledge of counseling information held important by counselor preparation programs.

To take the CPCE, please begin with your program advisor and complete the registration form. This ensures that you have the course prerequisites to take the comprehensive exam.

Next, create a user account and pay for your exam through PearsonVUE by visiting https://www.cce-global.org/AssessmentsAndExaminations/.

DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST) Students may earn academic credit in certain subjects by passing recognized exams that assess the student's knowledge in those subject areas. Graduate Comprehensive Exam Students admitted to candidacy in a graduate program requiring a comprehensive examination must pass the required comprehensive examination, written and/or oral, covering the work taken in the major field. All students must register in advance for comprehensive examinations.

Major Field Test (MFT) The ETS® Major Field Tests are comprehensive undergraduate outcomes assessments designed to measure the critical knowledge and understanding obtained by students in a major field of study.

As part of Troy University’s ongoing institutional assessment, undergraduate students in select programs are required to complete the Major Field Test by their department. Students complete the MFT during their senior year.

For TROY Online students, the MFT is attached to a specific course and is required to be taken to gain credit for the course. Since Since the Business MFTs are attached to courses, registration takes place when the student enrolls in the course and submits the Online Course Proctor Form at https:// etroy.troy.edu/forms/eProctorForm.aspx The only exception is in specialized cases when taking the MFT may be required for entrance into graduate school. For those instances, students must contact Tammy English (tenglish@troy.edu) for assistance.

Miller Analogies Test (MAT) The Miller Analogies Test (MAT) is a high-level ability test requiring the solution of problems stated as analogies. It consists of 120 partial analogies that are completed in 60 minutes. A maximum of 30 tests will be administered each test date. Registration will begin approximately 1 hour prior to testing time. Please arrive at our testing site no later than 2:30 PM. Scores should be received within 3- 4 weeks.

Praxis The Praxis® tests measure the academic skills and subject-specific content knowledge needed for teaching. The test must be taken for Teacher Education Program admission (College of Education) and updated by teaching professionals as required by the state.

Proctored Exams for Other Institutions The TROY Online Testing Center welcomes students from other institutions. However, we are only able to proctor web-based exams. This means that exams must be accessed and submitted online. We are unable to proctor paper-based exams at this time. Appointments must be scheduled at least 5 days in advance to ensure time to receive exam instructions.

Students are responsible for notifying their instructor/ Testing Dept. of where to send the exam instructions to. IMPORTANT INFORMATION 

All appointments should be scheduled as early as possible to secure a seat, as appointments fill up quickly, especially during midterm and finals weeks. For students from other institutions, an appointment must be scheduled at least 5 days in advance. Same day appointments are not available.



All testing is by appointment only.



Missed appointments will result in the student being considered a “No Show” and will need to reschedule the exam appointment for a new date 24 hours (5 days if non–Troy student) prior to taking the exam.



Students should arrive at least 10 minutes prior to their appointment.

Exams begin promptly at 8:30 A.M. and 1:30 P.M. Any student who arrives after exams begin without notice will not be permitted into the testing lab.



Park in front of and enter the testing center at University Park, Suite 100. ***Please be sure to park according to TROY Campus Regulations (do not back into or pull through a parking space). A parking decal may be required. Please ask the front- desk secretary about this when you arrive to test.



Students must present a valid student ID, driver’s license, or other approved government- issued photo ID.



No food or drinks are allowed in the testing lab.



The testing center environment and its computers are electronically monitored/recorded to include real-time video. In the event a student is suspected of academic misconduct, a recording will be sent to the appropriate parties.
