In 2006, Troy University embarked on the Building Beyond Boundaries capital campaign to shape the University into a global model of education. In 2015 and because of you, the campaign has surpassed its ambitious goal and touched the lives and futures of tens of thousands of people around the world.

With this book, we invite you to relive the campaign’s journey and achievements.

Contributions to the Building Beyond Boundaries campaign have made it possible for hundreds of TROY students to study abroad.

(right) The legacy and spirit of alumnus Jordan McBride will live on through generations of Master of Accountancy students thanks to Carr, Riggs and Ingram Accounting Firm. Partners, associates and staff of the firm contributed $44,100 to establish the scholarship in memory of their beloved colleague who died in 2015. (below) Students in TROY’s accountancy program will learn from highly accomplished, nationally known faculty thanks to a gift from the estate of Elbert A. Botts. The gift will fund a professorship in accounting.

Lance Robert McLendon persevered through illness to complete his degree at TROY. His achievement of academic success inspired his parents, Mac and Joan McLendon, and their family to memorialize Lance with a contribution of more than $300,000 to build a high-tech classroom and to fund scholarships. The Lance Robert McLendon classroom allows students to conduct real-time stock trading and research as part of their investment classes. (Left to right: Mac and Joan McLendon, Landon McLevaine, Jason, Amy and Garrett McLevaine) Marion Horne Beasley’s former student described her as “smart as a cricket.” Her love of her students and dedication to teaching inspired her daughter Jane Beasley to honor her with a scholarship fund for education students.

Troy University’s Confucius Institute was established in 2007 to provide Chinese language and cultural education throughout the state of Alabama. TROY’s Confucius Institute was made possible with funds provided by the Office of the Chinese Language Council International (Hanban), and it has been recognized as one of six top Confucius Institutes in the United States.

The historic Troy, Alabama, campus welcomes students from around the globe who are poised to make their marks in today’s global community. Today, TROY students represent 70 nations and speak 80 languages.

Hall School of Journalism and Communication students gain practical experience in the TrojanVision television studios using state-of-the-art equipment made possible by the Troy University Building Beyond Boundaries campaign. The Hall School also hosts more than 500 high school students each year who come to TROY to learn about academic and hands-on opportunities.

Former Congressman Terry Everett and his wife, alumnus Barbara Everett, have presented TROY with $1.2 million as well as Congressman Everett’s papers. Participating in the renaming of R. In 2012, TROY alumnus Dr. Manley Johnson and his family were honored for creating a coalition that contributed approximately $6 million to build the Manuel H. Johnson Center for Political Economy. “Governments and buildings do not learn, people do.

Students in TROY’s innovative geomatics program are the beneficiaries of the investment made in them by the estate of alumnus Elbert A. Botts. “Uncle Elbert believed in education and felt that [his college education] allowed him to become as successful as he was,” said Elbert Botts’ nephew Nathan Botts.

Troy University music students and faculty learn, teach and perform on Steinway pianos thanks to donors who contributed approximately $650,000 to make TROY an All-Steinway school.

“Steinway plays like an extension of myself.

All the nuances, subtleties and details I can imagine become possible,” said Steinway artist and faculty member Dr. Hui-Ting Yang.

Track and soccer facilities received new lighting through the Building Beyond Boundaries campaign.

Troy student athletes learn sportsmanship and character on the field, as well as off the field through the Dr. John Schmidt Athletic Ministries Fund, created upon the retirement of the longtime administrator and mentor to students.

A gift of $250,000 led to improvements to Riddle-Pace Field and the addition of the Lott Baseball Complex, giving Troy University the top baseball facility in the Sun Belt Conference and one of the best in the nation. The Troy University Softball Complex underwent a major renovation prior to the 2014 season thanks to the generosity of Mike and Cindy Dodds who have contributed more than $1 million to the campaign.

The Dodds Center is a state-of-the-art facility that houses practice and training rooms and other amenities.

Former TROY golfers rallied to fund the Trojan Oaks golf facility, a state-of-the-art campus practice facility that supports TROY’s championship golf teams.

Baseball is the focus of the Dr. Melvin Lucas Baseball Alumni Chapter, chartered during the fall.

Athletics administration staff and football coaches’ offices were renovated in the Tine Davis Field House thanks to the Building Beyond Boundaries campaign. In addition to offices, the field house features the Ben F. Beard Recruiting lounge, the Elizabeth Mills Rane Learning Center, locker rooms and several meeting rooms.

In 2014, the rebuilt John Maloy Long Hall was dedicated to the legendary band director who has inspired TROY students and musicians for fifty years. Long Hall provides learning and performance spaces for musicians and dancers.

Phenix City's 44,000 square-foot Riverfront Campus was opened in 2015 and houses academic programs and the Center for Water Resource Economics.

In 2011, the state-of-the-art Trojan Dining hall opened on the Troy, Alabama, campus.

“Caring for students includes providing the best facilities our budget will allow,” said Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Chancellor.

“Trojan Dining is a tangible symbol of the level of quality we strive for every day.”

In the fall of 2015, 430 students moved into the University’s newest residence facility. The new hall replaced Alumni Hall and totals more than 118,000 square feet.

Nationally recognized by “Learning by Design� as one of the best facilities of its kind, Trojan Arena is a 126,465-square-foot multipurpose complex that is home to basketball, volleyball and track programs as well as commencement exercises and special events.

Janice Hawkins Park provides a restful setting and will soon be home to the University’s growing collection of statuary. The Park will also be home to a house designed by legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

The rebuilt John Maloy Long Hall includes a gallery for fine art. Gifts of art valued at more than $2.5 million from Doug Hawkins, Mike Howard, Nall, Mac McLendon and others are displayed in many locations on the Troy, Alabama, campus as well as on other Alabama campuses.
