A:We opened on November 1st, 1995
Q: What inspired you to start this business?
A: I had worked previous jobs as a foreman and in management at Dinner Bell Food packing house, Bob Evans, etc. Being with big corporate places there were times where some of them had been bought out and eliminated positions, so I found myself going back to what I got my degree in. What I had better control and guarantee of, i.e., work environment. Plus, it’s in my blood, it’s what I’m good at.
Q: What was your mission at the start of your business? How does that compare to your mission now?
A: My mission was to be able to keep my customers happy, giving good services, and build a relationship with my customers that would be built on trust. I feel that my goals have been achieved; however, good work and satisfaction is always important. I also always look at things as time changes and try to make improvements.
Q: How many employees does your business have?
A:2
Q: What moments/things have been most rewarding to you running this business?
A: Meeting great people and getting many testimonies; from verbal to written letters/cards, on how pleased they were.
Q: What challenges have you had to face and overcome?
A: The computer world. It went from just needing tools, to having to understand computer technology as well.
Q: What elements of your business do you think makes you so unique and so vital to the Miami Valley small business community?
A: We take pride in our work and stand behind it. We also have many years of experience, and we operate on honesty and trust.
Q: What is something new you would like to do with your business, or start to offer more?
A: Send out email reminders to customers. They could be added to a list to remind them about certain services such as oil changes, winterizing, etc.
Q: What is a dream goal that you would love to achieve with your business in the future?
A: Our ultimate goal would be the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot through the web wherever I am at, and not necessarily at my office desk.
Q: What is something about Getter’s Automotive that you think people would be surprised to learn about?
A:We started out with no lifts, no scanners, laying on the ground, and built our way up from scratch.
