Troy Chamber Endorses Upcoming School Bond Levy

The The Troy Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted to endorse the Troy City Schools 6.96 mill combined bond levy. The TACC historically has supported previous levy campaigns understanding the importance of strong schools to the community. In addition, the board made a sizeable contribution to the campaign to kickstart the efforts to communicate the plan and why new schools are needed.

The Plan: 6.96 mill combined levy

  • 4.66 mill for 37 years = Construction of 4 new school buildings (3 - PK-4 grades, 1 - 5/6 grade)

  • 2.3 mill for 29 years = .5 mill required by the State of Ohio for maintenance of new facilities and 1.8 mill for comprehensive infrastructure upgrades at the high school.

The plan will improve learning environments and provide equitable, inclusive, high-quality education for all students.

The time to invest in education is now and will put the community at a competitive advantage with the ability to better retain business, attract workers, new residents, and ensure the highest quality of life for the community at large.
