ELITE EMBRYO AUCTION

Welcome to our Spring Fling Embryo Auction for 2023. The rising tide of the cattle market and the Brangus and Ultrablack business is exciting as we see things going in the right direction not only for our GENEPLUS family but also for the breed as a whole as many exciting things are happening at the association level to help promote and further expand the market share for this breed of cattle that have such a potential to impact a greater part of the country and world. Doors are opening and will continue to open as we move forward if we are breeding the kind of cattle the industry demands.
As you look at the selection of embryos and semen in this offering we hope a few things are apparent. First of all, we are offering a front end line up of embryos. Nearly all of these have been created in the last few months, sired by the freshest and most industry friendly bull battery in the country. Data Bank, Triple Crown, Blueprint, Ultimate alongside proven bulls such as Trail Boss, Business Line, and Signal mark these pages. Add to it young bulls whose semen is in short supply through no fault of their own like Entourage and All Business and you see a lineup of embryos that are certain to make a mark in the business and give you a pedigree boost
you can’t get anywhere else. In addition, the cows in this offering are proven. We know them and we know where they work and how they work. Donor heifer is not a phrase you will ever hear rallied about at GENEPLUS and because of that you can trust that the genetics we put forward are tried and tested in our program, not thrown out on an “if” and a “maybe”. Study the cows and call myself or the breeders, we would love to get off in the weeds visiting with you about them.
As you study this offering remember one thing, balance will never go out of style - on paper and in person. Regardless of the trends, bulls of the month, overhyped hype, etc, when the smoke clears if you’re in the bull business your customers will demand balance and that is what this offering is stacked with. Feel free to call and visit about the cattle, the auction closeout process, or even the weather, we don’t care, we’ll be happy to hear from you no matter what. Take care and happy shopping!

Elite performance, style and carcass wrapped up in this lot combining two individuals who have made their mark in the breed. The dam of these embryos is the $41,000 beauty queen purchased by Jamey Reynolds and Casy George at CRC in 2020, and a female who has a tremendous set of progeny en route to the sale ring at CRC in 2023 and
beyond by multiple sires, including Big Lake! Big Lake has garnered the breed’s attention as a sire that can post chart topping growth and carcass EPD’s, as he posts 6 traits in the Top 4% of the breed. Expect cattle here with a world of eye appeal, and lots of boxes checked on the paper.

Big ceiling earning power here combining the $18,000 bred heifer selection through CRC in 2021 by Jamey Reynolds and Casy George with Masterpiece who has proven his worth in the bull business with an incredible run of progeny excellence in the most recent November and March sales at CRC. 30H51 follows the eye appeal pattern of her
$41,000 mother as a big bodied, long spined Business Line while Masterpiece epitomizes consistency of type in his progeny alongside a data set that literally covers all the bases. Safe bet with lots of outcome!

We have seen a lot of success mating UB1’s back to UB1’s and this lot encompasses that, while being stacked with proven herd sire making females. 70D1 is the dam of the outstanding Signal daughter selected by Quail Valley at CRC last fall and Intrigue, who is quickly growing in popularity and will be poised to make a splash in the fall sale at CRC in
November. Ultimate is the high powered herd sire selected by Adam Hicks in 2021 at CRC and one whose progeny we are extremely excited about with the combination of their look, power, and consistency. Expect this mating to pack a lot of pounds on the ground, with incredible length, carcass merit, and revenue generating potential.

Signal has secured his place as one of the great breeding bulls of his time with the incredible list of herd sires and females that he has left behind. While still alive and servicing cows naturally he is no longer able to freeze semen, adding value to embryos like these because there will be no more as semen is in extremely tight supply. The dam of these
embryos is one of Nic’s favorite cows, and comes to us with a unique but well recognized pedigree, adding some flexibility and variety but still resting on the reliability of the heritage, including 75R47 who was well into her teenage years before her exit from Lake Majestik. Bulls or heifers won’t matter here, you’ll love them both!

One of the take-aways of the March sale at CRC was the extreme consistency and quality of the Entourage progeny. They are stand up cattle with lots of functionality, numerical balance, a correct sheath design, and stoutness, they were met with extreme demand from the front end of our bull buying base. The dam of this lot produced a pair of these sons in the March sale, and has been a consistent female to
a number of sires in the LM program. Entourage was a specimen but was injured in his first breeding season at Sunshine Acres and never recovered, only having put a limited amount of semen in the bank prior to. Adding to the rarity and quality of this offering, this is another mating there will be no more of so take heed, as these will turn to cash very easily when they hit the ground!

Hard to imagine packing more performance and earning potential in merging the old school and new school than doing it with Signal and a power-packed Csonka daughter. Signal’s success can not be overstated with the likes of Data Bank and Spectrum, then most recently 102K and 919K21 in the March sale, however his value will continue to increase as his daughters sort their way to the front for years to come as they are
without question the tops of their respective contemporaries. The 99Y8 cow has been a source of power at LM, and adds to it a high quality carcass impact, especially impressive considering her ability to still rank where she does at her age given the breeding pressure the carcass traits have seen in the last few years. Low risk and high reward.

One of the pleasant surprises of the 2022 calving seasons was the extra consistency and quality we saw from the Blueprint progeny. Stout hipped, good sheathed, and the right amount of look reflect him well. Blueprint is a bull that is extremely hot in Australia as they appreciate the masculinity and character he contains. The dam of these embryos was a house favorite at CRC before going to Somers Valley. She is the
dam of a number of bulls over the years including the $56,000 Alliance selected by Randy Schmidt in 2022 at CRC as well as an extremely correct Wrangler son selected by Mike Weathers in the most recent March sale. She earned her way as a donor for the right reasons and has stayed, leaving a number of females at CRC and SV. Herd sire on the way in this frozen package.

Vern Suhn selected Intrigue as a yearling for the Suhn program because of his combination of eye appeal, performance and carcass merit and if you have been around the breed very long there is one thing you should have learned, never try to out guess Vern, he is usually on to something. The Intrigue progeny have been impressive within the GENEPLUS group and will show themselves well to the public as we head into the fall and

spring sales. 404E is a daughter of the $65,000 404A and has served as a donor at both SF and LM. An impressive individual, there is not a bull in the breed that would fit her any better than Intrigue. Get in on the front of this mating, because when they hit the ground the Intrigue progeny will be gaining value by the minute.
Sire: VOREL ABSTRACT 25E9
Reg# UB10381649
If there is a people’s choice for the most consistent mating in the offering this could be it. Abstract doesn’t miss, always the same day in and day out, moderate at birth, high performing at weaning and yearling, consistent in their design, and low in their throw away rate. 415B is the same. She is a big bodied, stout made Chisholm daughter who just doesn’t miss. By multiple sires she has been consistent over
Dam: CB MS CHISHOLM 415B

the long haul and one who you could throw any bull at and expect it to work. 415B’s phenotype and Abstract’s method of operation blend perfectly. Whether getting your start in the breed or adding to an existing program, this is one where the return on investment will be easy to calculate.
Sire: GACC DATA BANK 102H3

Reg# R10241724
Data Bank has not disappointed. His progeny are coming like his EPD’s say and growing like they projected. He is for real and will be a staple for years to come. 468A2 was also a staple at CRC for many years before going to Somers Valley. Without question every year her progeny sort their way to the top including the All Around bull who is in service at Cavender’s with several sons selling this spring and her Surge daughter,
who was the selection of Quail Valley when they bought the CRC pick lot in Houston in 2022 at $35,000. We have stacked this offering with can’t miss matings because we want our customers to have success through this avenue, and here is yet another stacked with consistency and one that will not come with buyer’s remorse.

Dam: SF MISS MACK 535E20
Reg# UB10351235
If you go to Schmidt’s and look at the progeny and then the donor pasture, undoubtedly one of the first you will notice in each is 535E20. She is extremely impressive as an individual and her progeny are even more so. No doubt she is an in-house favorite. County Line was Randy’s selection from the spring 2021 sale at Cavender’s as the leadoff bull
and stacks a data set that is nearly unrivaled with the combo of birth, performance, maternal and carcass. Another of the great combos we have seen in breeding UB cattle is stacking UB2 sires back on UB1 females, as this one does. His data + her phenotype = Great Success.
Sire: GACC DATA BANK 102H3
Reg# UB10453285
Dam: SF MISS THREE D 541C4
Reg# R10293641
Data Bank was made for this cow’s phenotype. 541C4 comes from a long line of productive females in the Schmidt herd as both her dam and granddam were donors for Randy. 541C4 carries on the big bodied 541 look with more shape and a very good foot design underneath her. Add to her the style we are seeing from the Data Bank progeny and you
will get a UB2 that is moderate BW, Top 5% for WW and YW and full of muscle and power. The UB2 space is a good place to live – you can satisfy the traditional Brangus breeders, a wide range of bull customers, and those people like us at GENEPLUS who aren’t as concerned about the prefix but rather the quality within.
Sire: GACC DATA BANK 102H3
Reg# UB10453285
Dam: SUHN’S MS NEW CONCEPT 894A31
Reg# R10262586
If you don’t want a good one don’t buy these. 894A31 is one of Derrick Miller’s favorite cows at Chimney Rock because she breeds and breathes stoutness, consistency and quality into her offspring. She has ran a number of ways successfully but nothing sets up as well for her as Data Bank. Her extension, power, and overall substance as the best New
Concept daughter in the breed set up perfectly for the curve bending data and eye appeal Data Bank can add. Here is one you will love, regardless of whether they are bulls or heifers. Another UB2 mating that will have tremendous marketing flexibility and a world of upside when they hit the ground.
DAM: SUHN’S MS NEW CONCEPT 894A31
Sire: SUHN’S TRIPLE CROWN 416J39
Reg# UB10490384
Dam: SUHN’S MISS AUGUSTUS 894B38
Reg# R10277971
894B38 might be as powerful a female as there was that loaded on the truck in the Suhn dispersal and landed at Chimney Rock. She is one of those cows when you get behind her is two axe handles wide, and impressive from every angle. Mated back to the $72,000 Triple Crown, the data will be in place and the phenotype will be on point.
Triple Crown has been and will be mated to a lot of quality females in his first year but none that can transmit as much natural muscle shape and power as 894B38 can. If you are after power and presence with real maternal merit look no further.
DAM: SUHN’S MISS AUGUSTUS 894B38
Reg# R10266676
1528B has been regarded as one of the top UB1 donors in the breed. She is the right size, huge hipped, square made and full of consistency. She has racked a number of high sellers including a Wrangler daughter last fall to T3 at $20,000. The uniqueness of this mating is intriguing as this is the first time she has been hooked up outside of our traditional
Reg# UB10289645
gamut of bulls. Big Town writes a data set with much more balance and moderation of birth than his heritage would suggest, and combined with the consistency of 1528B, the completeness of this mating should be impressive. No influence from Three D, Trail Boss, or Business Line in tow, the mating flexibility of the resulting progeny will be exceptional.
Reg# R10453268
All Business was the $19,500 selection of ABS Global through the Suhn Sale in 2021. He was a big topped, big hipped individual with tremendous extension and presence, and the bull that most closely resembled the style and eye appeal of his ever popular sire. His first progeny across the country have had raving reports from commercial and purebred breeders alike. 6251 was the choice of Bill Davis and

Derrick Miller through the 2021 RA Brown female sale as an anchor donor. Innovation was a sire picked up by Genex as a mature herd sire in part because of the tremendous daughters he was producing, and that trend has continued. Here is a unique mating where both pieces fit like a glove.
Sire: SUHN’S TRAIL BOSS 30B3
Reg# R10270677
Dam: SF MISS THREE D 7521D
Reg# UB10321161
The next 3 lots come from 7521D, a staple in the Schmidt program and one who will get a lot of catalog space over the next two years. She is just as her picture looks, big ribbed, big hipped, good uddered and a producing and fertile sow. Trail Boss has found his place in the breed and will be one of the most influential sires of the decade when we
look back 10 years from now. Unfortunately we are out of semen so opportunities like this should not be taken for granted. The last semen we sold on him in bulk cost $150/unit, so don’t underestimate the value of this set of embryos.
Sire: SUHN’S BUSINESS LINE 30D26
Reg# R10327046
Dam: SF MISS THREE D 7521D
Reg# UB10321161
Style and profile abound in this lot as the look of Business Line comes home with the stoutness and presence of 7521D. 7521D will impress you when you see her, and she is the type of cow Business Line needs. Business Line has been popular worldwide, from North America to Australia. His greatest value, however, may be his daughters, because
mated to maternal matrons like this they are fantastic. If I am buying these I know the bulls will be good but I am cheering for heifers because they will be phenomenal.

It really is a shame Entourage isn’t with us anymore, because he had a big place in this breed. The combination of information is phenomenal, and as noted earlier in this catalog, his sons were quickly consumed in our March sale. They are the cowman’s kind. When Randy bred Entourage and Jamey and crew bought him, this is what we all had in
mind, his sweet spot was going to be on Three D daughters. Our bull sight unseen program is very popular, people trust us because we shoot them straight. Buying embryos is similar, you have to trust what the seller is telling you, and trust me when I tell you, these will click.

We may have saved the most powerful for last. Adam Hicks has long had an eye for cattle that are correctly designed from head to tail, with lots of gas in the tank. This lot epitomizes the breeding program at Hicks Ranch and is built to be a game changer. Ultimate’s progeny are exceeding expectations and as we see several more born this spring, we are excited to see the first set weigh off this fall, as they look to be scale smashers. The 7139J female is bred in lots of quality and performance.
Her dam was one of the top open heifers to sell at CRC in 2018 by the watchful eye of Melanie Fuller, with her tremendous Trail Boss daughter being selected by Hicks Ranch at $18,000 at 7 months of age. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to get in on the front end of the story, these cattle should write no less than 6 traits in the Top 5% when they hit the ground and should have the design to run to any part of the country.
Signal has made his mark. He is the most productive, industry centered son of Three D ever born, bar none. From calving ease to performance to maternal to disposition to design he out ranks them all. His proof is in his progeny, but not just the high selling sons like Data Bank and Spectrum at $52,000 each, but the scores of commercial bulls that have scattered the country and went to work making more like kind cattle that work in multiple environments. Perhaps his biggest impact is yet to be seen however, as more daughters enter production every season, we are
certain to see their mark last for generations as well. Signal is alive and well in the breeding pastures at Lake Majestik but he is no longer able to freeze semen and will never be able to in the future. With semen in very very short supply, we will never sell semen on him again in the open market, and were only able to break 10 units away from the Lake Maejstik inventory for this sale. Selling in 5 lots of 2 units each, take advantage of the opportunity, because the opportunities will be short moving forward, but the return will be great!
