GENEPLUS at CRC Bull Sale 131 Brangus and Ultrablack Bulls 140 Commercial Females

WE PROVE IT SOME SAY IT

PROVEN POWERHOUSE GENETICS

Multiple breed leading sires have risen from this sale over the past 3 decades, but more importantly than that you will find consistency unlike any other in the breed from lot 1 to lot 131. High accuracy sires and proven cow families.

WE KNOW THE BUSINESS. WE ARE IN THE BUSINESS.

We are in ALL aspects of the cattle business, not just seedstock producers. This gives us a viewpoint from conception to marketing to consumer in understanding what the industry needs. We have watched and listened to our customers and built a product with a shot of ear that ACTUALLY fits the entire country.

BUILT FOR BALANCE & MULTI-TRAIT EXCELLENCE

The lost art of the cattle business is balance. More programs are chasing extremes in one area or another. We are not. These cattle can AND will profit through multiple points of the supply chain on the terminal side WHILE still making a female that can acclimate and excel in various environments.

Dear Friends,

Welcome to our annual Spring Bull and Commercial Female Sale. Vern Suhn hosted his first sale on the 4th Tuesday of March in 1993, and here we are, continuing the tradition of what he started, 32 years later, providing a set of bulls that fit the entire industry. The partners of GENEPLUS continue to be focused on the mission of offering the best Brangus and Ultrablack product in the industry and we could not be more pleased with the bulls we have to show you.

When we sorted bulls in January, Cody and Vern commented on the consistency of the offering and in particular the quality of the feet and legs and disposition. No one is more critical of cattle than Cody and Vern, and rest assured, the quality control of this offering and the cowherds behind them is unmatched.

Take a look for yourself, these bulls will literally work coast to coast. We consistently have customers that tell us changing to GENEPLUS bulls have added 50-75# to their calf crop from their previous English bull batteries, what can an additional $150-$225/head do for your operation?

The commercial offering is always straight from the heart of our Partners, Genetic Partners, and some of our very good customers. High quality, high genetic cattle with a world of market future in front of them. With the historic value of calves and culls, it is a great time to trade up with your bulls and inject some youth into your cowherd.

Be looking for videos of the bulls in early March and when studying feel free to call Cody, Vern, Derrick, Roberto or any of the G+ Partners with any questions. We would love to have you with us March 24th and 25th.

In closing I want to acknowledge the crew at Chimney Rock - Derrick is as good a manager as any I have ever worked with in any business. Justin manages the River Ranch, raising all our ET’s as well as commercial cows and does a tremendous job. Roberto manages the Bull Development and is as conscientious at doing a good job as anyone out there. Ricardo and Anselmo are great Herdsmen themselves and great team players, filling in anywhere we need them. Gail and I are grateful for their efforts every day.

I also want to thank Lee Robertson, he has been my friend and Gail’s for 50 years. He has been involved in every business we’ve had, building race cars, cattle pens, buildings, our new home, and everything in-between. Thank you, Lee, for everything you have done over the years.

We look forward to hosting you March 24th and 25th!

Sincerely,

IN THE DETAILS THE DIFFERENCE IS

As you view the seedstock industry, there is a large disconnect between how seedstock breeders, marketers and consultants view their “reality” of the commercial cattle business and what commercial cattlemen and women actually face in the REAL REALITY of the commercial cattle business. On the contrary, for years the partners of GENEPLUS have set out a course different from the Brangus breed and the rest of the bull business. Experiencing the same trials and tribulations of ranching on a daily basis as our customers, we set out to build a product that actually worked in the real world, and for the entire business, not single segments and single traits.

Rather than surrounding ourselves with hype and pomp and circumstance or chasing extremes we have set out to produce cattle that fit MULTIPLE environments, built on balance, with true structural integrity, uncompromised fertility, and a phenotype that the market ACTUALLY accepts. As a large cattle feeder told me one time, “There is nothing better than a good Brangus and nothing worse than a bad one.”. The industry likes to feed these Brangus and Ultrablack cattle, and everyone knows the value of the females, but they must come in the right package.

Too much frame, not enough muscle shape, and too much sheath and navel continue to encompass a large percentage of the Brangus population, leading to the “eared discount” many are used to. But as you step back and really analyze the market and discounts, was the discount because of the ear? Or perhaps because of the cattle behind the ear? We believe the latter.

We have multiple customers topping respective markets on their sale day from multiple regions. From cattle selling on Superior in states like Nevada, Kansas, and Florida, to brick and mortar auction markets like the nation’s largest in Joplin Regional Stockyards, we consistently receive reports of success of our customers, at various weights and in various regions.

This balance and industry acceptance leads to relationships with more customers and entities like Top Dollar Angus. We never sat out to chase carcass extremes, we set out for multi-trait balance, but in a structured and disciplined breeding program, good results come from years of consistency and Top Dollar is a result of that. Come see the difference BALANCE can make in your program.

TRUCKING LOCATIONS AVAILABLE FREE

This year GENEPLUS will host the 32nd year of the Suhn Cattle Company sale at Chimney Rock Cattle Company in Concord, Arkansas. This is a sale with a history of producing BREED LEADERS and this year will be no different. In 2022, Vern and Vicki Suhn of Suhn Cattle Company sold their outstanding herd to Bill and Gail Davis, Chimney Rock Cattle Company, Randy and Karen Schmidt, Schmidt Farms and Nic and Chasity Cornelison, Lake Majestik Farms purchased the Jack Moore herd allowing the GENEPLUS partners to continue the Suhn Cattle Company and TJM Ranch legacy’s. Chimney Rock is honored to host the ELITE bull sale the 4th Tuesday of March at the ranch in Concord, AR.

In order to best serve our customers, we will offer free trucking on bulls to GENEPLUS Partner Ranches at

no expense to the buyer. It is our goal that having these central drop points will allow buyers the opportunity to pick up their cattle closer to home if unable to haul them from the sale, or if buying online or sight unseen. If there is trucking needed beyond the specified drop point the expense will become the responsibility of the buyer at that time but GENEPLUS will be happy to facilitate further arrangements as needed. Prior to sale day we will have days assigned and times given for cattle to be picked up at each ranch location. If cattle are not picked up on the specified days, they will be maintained at the ranch for a nominal fee to cover feed and health expenses.

If you would like to visit about this option further, please call Cody, Vern or the GENEPLUS office.

GENEPLUS PARTNER PROFILE

Schmidt Farms

Growing up in Mississippi, Dr. Randy and Karen Schmidt’s transition following med school to Texarkana, Texas has proven to pay multifold as Randy discovered a passion for the Brangus breed, operating on one of the most beautiful and practical ranches in the state of Texas. Operating a commercial herd for many years prior, in 1999, Randy was able to purchase the original portion of the contiguous land he currently ranches on and soon followed the beginning of his registered Brangus herd.

A student of the business, Randy’s focus has truly been on balance and consistency over the past quarter century, and one drive through the pastures of Simms, Texas reaffirms that mission. Practical and productive, the cow herd at Schmidt’s lives in reality, running on rye grass and Bermuda, without the frills most seedstock producers deem necessary. The phenotype from pasture to pasture, and age group to age group is almost eerily similar, with many not understanding how one can make a cow herd with such little variance. The EPD profile mirrors the same consistency, with multi-trait balance and cattle that are moderate at birth, with extra growth, above average carcass, and a focus on fertility and structure.

As many studious purebred breeders do, Randy found a few cow families to build around, learned to mate them and went to replicating with his own twist. Pedigrees read very similar across cow his families, with lots of Brickhouse, Three D, Consensus, Mack, Epic, Newsman, Angelo, and Abrams in scores of them. He made the 40’s stouter, the 75’s soggier, the 160’s a staple, the 404’s popular, the 541’s more complete, the 909’s relevant, and probably his most famous – the 535’s ultra-complete, sound, and productive at every level. A year ago in this sale, 3 SF bulls by Data Bank sold 2nd, 3rd, & 4th in the sale order for $25,000, $24,000, and $23,000 respectively, all out of one cow-535E20. This year 535E20 brought several more, including 2 of the highlight bulls, this time by Kingpin, who have even higher ceilings.

Randy’s commitment to breeding cattle is rivaled by service to the breed itself, currently serving his second term on the IBBA Board of Directors, participating on numerous committees, with particular emphasis on Breed Improvement which he has chaired previously and will again chair in 2025. His thought-provoking, direct conversation is healthy in the board and committee rooms, making sure the boat keeps rowing in the right direction. Recognized by his peers for his efforts, Randy was named IBBA Breeder of the Year in 2019.

The SF brand represents a genuine focus on fertility, functionality, structural integrity, and extreme consistency. His bulls have literally sold coast to coast to breeders large and small, purebred and commercial, and known for their performance, correct sheath design, athleticism, and balance. Never satisfied with the status quo, after a quarter of a century the breeding program at Schmidt Farms has made a lot of progress, and by the looks of the bulls offered March 25, 2025, they are hitting full stride on all cylinders. Representatives from either GENEPLUS or Show Me Genetics will be available sale day to fill your orders. We would ask that you keep your orders to goblet increments of 5’s or 10’s so that we can avoid excessive handling of semen. SALE ORDER

The cattle will not sell in numerical lot order. We will have a printed sale order prior to the sale. Please note that the bulls and commercial females will be presented on video.

GENETIC CONDITION POLICY

Any animals that are confirmed as carriers of a genetic condition such as DD, developmental duplication, will be listed above their pedigrees as DDC. Any animals we are still waiting test results on will be listed DDPC. All other animals have been either confirmed free of known genetic conditions by test results or from pedigree analysis.

TRUSTED PERFORMANCE INFORMATION

We are extremely dedicated to providing our customers the genetics needed to positively impact their bottom line. As the motto of GENEPLUS states, “A Step Ahead. The Advantage You Can Trust”, we take very seriously the process of collecting phenotypic information and understand its fundamental importance and the role performance information and proper contemporary grouping play in providing the breed association with the most correct and current information possible, which in turn impacts the EPD’s you see directly. We will never compromise the integrity of our data.

All of the weights in this offering were taken by a scale, no tapes or windshield guesses. The ultrasound information was collected by David Aborn and processed through a certified CUP Lab prior to submission at IBBA.

The industry has changed over time and a process which was once dominated by visual appraisal, then performance testing and contemporary grouping now has the ability to roll all of the information into a scope of genomically enhanced EPD’s. This gives the customer a tremendous edge in the accuracy of EPD’s and the assurance of parentage, thus dramatically improving the selection process for the future of their ranching enterprise. We encourage you to utilize these tools. For your convenience we have listed the current non-parent Brangus average EPD’s in this catalog for reference and comparison on how an individual compares to the average of the breed in any trait.

PARTIAL BREEDING GUARANTEE

All bulls selling in this sale have passed a thorough and stringent BSE (Breeding Soundness Evaluation) by Dr. Craig Fontenot of Town & Country Animal Clinic. Each bull selling has passed Dr. Craig Fontenot’s tests and is considered a satisfactory potential breeder. All bulls are guaranteed as breeding bulls through the first breeding season from the date of purchase. Please keep in mind that we expect the bull (s) to

be treated with proper animal husbandry and that they are young bulls and require some additional management compared to mature bulls. Proper management should include the following requirements: 12 to 15 month old bulls at time of sale are utilized in a ratio of one bull to 15 cows and 16 to 20 month old bulls one bull to 20 cows. Furthermore, if these requirements are not adhered to or these bulls are placed in service or are housed until time of service with mature bulls then GENEPLUS will not stand behind this breeding guarantee.

If a problem does arise please contact GENEPLUS, Cody Gariss 417-2621257 or Vern Suhn 620-583-3706, as soon as any question occurs as to a bull’s breeding soundness. GENEPLUS will evaluate the problem, consult with a veterinarian if needed and if replacement is required will replace with a bull of equal quality. If a replacement bull is not available GENEPLUS will issue a credit for a future GENEPLUS sale. Please contact us before shipping any bulls. Shipping an animal you feel is unsatisfactory before contacting GENEPLUS will void our guarantee. In an effort to simplify the guarantee and credit process, cull salvage value within this guarantee and credit process moving forward is figured at a standard $1500/head.

This is a partial breeding guarantee and is not designed to mirror that of an insurance policy to stand death loss, debilitating physical injury, etc. If full morbidity or mortality coverage over and above this GENEPLUS breeding guarantee is desired we encourage you to contact Marcus Creasy, Adams & Creasy Insurance, at (501) 206-2281.

MAINTENANCE AFTER THE SALE

CRC will work with customers on delivery of cattle in an effort to have the cattle delivered to customers as soon as possible after the sale. However, if you are not ready for the cattle at this time we will maintain the cattle at the ranch for a period of time until you are ready for them. A nominal fee of $5.50 per day will be charged plus any veterinarian charges incurred will be billed. Cattle will be maintained on a growing ration in grass traps. Cattle become the buyer’s responsibility immediately after the sale. CRC or GENEPLUS is not responsible for insurance costs or death.

TRUCKING

At the conclusion of the sale or as soon as possible following the sale if purchases are made via video or sight unseen agreement; please notify the sales staff as to specific instructions about cattle delivery. If you request our assistance the GENEPLUS staff will make every effort to help coordinate the most reliable and economical trucking available. We will offer free trucking on bulls to GENEPLUS Partner Ranches at no expense to the buyer. If there is trucking needed beyond the specified drop point the expense will become the responsibility of the buyer at that time but GENEPLUS will be happy to facilitate further arrangements if needed. If you prefer to make your own arrangements Gary Tharp, Dixie Grove Trucking will be available sale day to discuss your needs or we can place you in contact with other reliable truckers.

Please make note that many of the animals were in different contemporary groupings at weaning; therefore, it is not fair to compare birth, weaning and yearling weights from one herd to another.

EPD’S

Expected Progeny Difference (EPDs) is the best estimate of an animal’s genetic merit for a particular trait. It takes into account the animal’s own performance compared with its contemporaries and the performance of it’s relatives compared against their contemporaries.

Birth Weight (BW) EPD predicts calf size and calving ease.

Weaning Weight (WW) EPD predicts preweaning growth potential.

Yearling Weight (YW) EPD predicts overall growth potential.

Milk EPD predicts the maternal contribution to weaning weight of the calf through milk production, behavior, immunity and other maternal environmental factors.

Scrotal Circumference (SC) EPD predicts not only testicular size of male progeny but also daughters onset of puberty.

Ribeye Area (REA) EPD predicts total muscle.

Intramuscular Fat (IMF) EPD predicts % of intramuscular fat which is highly correlated to marbling.

TERMINAL INDEX (TI) is a bio-economic index which considers six growth and carcass-related traits, each trait weighted according to its heritability and economic importance in a feedlot situation with carcasses valued by weight, yield, and quality grade. The value is expressed in standard deviation terms, which can be difficult to comprehend. IBBA advises breeders to evaluate the percentile rank rather than the actual index value.

FERTILITY INDEX (FI) is a bio-economic index which considers six traits, each trait weighted according to its heritability and economic importance in a cow-calf enterprise. The value is expressed in standard deviation terms, which can be difficult to comprehend. IBBA advises breeders to evaluate the percentile rank rather than the actual index value.

HEIFER PREGNANCY (HP) is reported in percentile units and represents the probability of a sire’s daughters becoming pregnant during their first breeding season compared to daughters of other sires.

STAYABILITY (ST) is reported in percentile units and represents the probability that a cow will have five consecutive calves compared to her yearling contemporaries.

PERFORMANCE

Individual performance data is provided as supplementary information as EPDs provide more reliable evaluation of genetics differences of animals.

Actual Birth Weight (BW) are reported.

Scrotal Circumference (SC) is adjusted to 365 days

Brangus EPDs are calculated by the Livestock Genetic Services and are part of a program called the National Cattle Evaluation (NCE).

EPD PERCENTILE RANKINGS

Individual ranking relative to the entire breed population on a specific trait, represented in the form of a percentage, with 1% being best and 99% being worst.

Top Dollar Angus - TDA logo indicates bull’s whose progeny will be eligible for Top Dollar Angus certification based on TDA assessment and evaluation.

BECAUSE YOUR CALVES GENETICS MATTER.

In the fall of 2024, we were approached by Top Dollar Angus, the nation’s largest feeder cattle certification program, and quickly jumped at the opportunity to give our genetics and our customers a bigger stage on sale day, entering into some of the leading feedlot procurement rooms in the country. Five months later we have successfully run multiple customers’ cattle through this process and found it to be an easy and efficient progression and more importantly one that adds value and opportunity for our customers. As you view this catalog, we have marked the bulls with the Top Dollar logo that will qualify for this program going forward. While there are many opportunities in the business, there are no silver bullets, however this is a tool in the toolbox that may fit some of our customers and we encourage each one to evaluate their process and program and see if it works for them. As always, we are happy to visit with any information you may have about the TDA program and process.

Learn how Top Dollar Angus helps qualified calves earn a $24/head Premium on average. Nate Smith, TDA General Manager, 620-546-4839

If you are looking to add extra value to your feeder cattle I recommend you give Nate a call at Top Dollar Angus to see if you qualify. We sold our calves at Fort Scott Livestock January 18th and ran them through TDA an the process was very simple and affordable to get our cattle exposed to more potential buyers. As a producer we not only select bulls that add feedlot performance and carcass merit, we also select for maternal traits to develop heifers to retain in our herd. With the help of Cody and GENEPLUS our Brangus and Ultrablack bulls have certified us in the top 9% with Top Dollar Angus.

James Crow, Crow & Crow Farms, Asbury, MO

I ran my yearling steers through the Top Dollar verification process and sold them on Superior in early January. I believe going through Top Dollar added $4-$5/hundred to the selling price. The process was easy and rewarding for me being able to capture a premium on these cattle without having to feed them. We all know right now the market is good on everything, but when it backs up, the premiums from a program like this will make an even bigger impact and be a huge difference on the bottom line.

Delmar Snyder, Snyder Cattle Co., Coldwater, KS

All Top Dollar Angus qualified bulls are carrying the TDA logo.

DIFFERENT BY DESIGN

Different by design, we have not only separated the type and kind of our cattle from the breed, we also believe in developing them differently from the old ways of thinking. These age advantaged bulls have been developed with longevity in mind, slow-grown since weaning on purpose, specifically slotted for this sale since birth. These bulls have not been sorted through, sorted back, picked over, or sold before, like what you may see other places. This is their first and only trip to town because that’s how our process works. Rest assured the quality control is at its highest, and these bulls are fit and ready to go into any country and work for a living.

OUTCROSS R NUMBER EXCELLENCE

This lot represents an ‘R’ number pedigree that presents outcross genetics to the Trail Boss, Masterpiece and Signal lineage that dominate much of the bull power used in this program today. 416M13 started life with an 89 lb. BW to ratio 108 and went on to record an AWW of 740 pounds to ratio115 and kept that contemporary dominance with an AYW of 1254 to ratio 114 alongside his 34.3 Adj SC and 5 STAR DISPOSITION. His EPDs for Growth, Carcass, Maternal and Fertility rank him at the top of the breed. Weaning and Yearling growth positioned him at the top of the breed with rankings in the top 1%. TI and FI rank him in the top 2% and TM in the top 4%. Furthermore, he has REA dominance in the top 10% while still sustaining HP, STAY and NC statistics at that same level. IMF is a big concern for many breeders, and he ranks in the top 15% for that as well as BB and the top 25% for SC and FT bringing his total to 13 traits in the top 25% or higher. As you study his lineage, he is sired by a son of the popular sire Suhn’s Business Line 30D26, in GACC All Business 561H3 who was selected through the 2021 Suhn Cattle Co

sale by ABS Global. His progeny has been readily accepted by both purebred and commercial breeders as they excel for growth, carcass, fertility indexes as well as terminal indexes. His female lineage stems through the 416 cow family that has excelled in excellence in the Suhn cowherd and has continued that dominance in the Chimney Rock program. His mother 416G27 is, if not the best, one of the best Epic daughters to graze the pastures at Chimney Rock and records ratios of BW/100, WW/105 and YW/107 on three recorded progeny thus far. His maternal granddam 416C3 is a donor female at CRC and records progeny ratios of BW/96 on 8, WW/103 on 8 and YW/105 on 6. A Guardian daughter who redefines maternal in every aspect of the word. We look forward to your evaluation of this prospect at sale time and are confident that you will agree that he possesses the potential to be a future asset for a new era in Brangus genetics. Selling terms are the buyer’s option. A)Selling 2/3 interest and full possession. CRC will retain 1/3 semen interest. OR B)Selling full interest and full possession, with CRC retaining the rights to 400 units of semen at the cost of production for in-herd use only.

BALANCE, UNIFORMITY, AND COMPLETENESS

As we navigate the challenges of integrating and selecting genetics to incorporate into our breeding programs one needs to research and evaluate the ancestry that has gone into developing the individual prospects you are looking at. These two highlight prospects, G+ Kingpin 535M30 and G+ Kingpin 535M34 from Schmidt Farms standout in their pedigree dominance, genomic assessment and individual presentation. Their sire Suhn’s Kingpin 53H4, although maybe not a household word when it comes to usage within the breed, has left an indelible mark on the herds he has been used in. His sire Suhn’s Trail Boss 30B3 at 11 years of age is still a dominate R number sire for a superior combination of maternal, growth, carcass and fertility. Upon viewing these two lots you will immediately become aware of what breeders have seen in his progeny--calving ease genetics with an abundance of rib shape, base width, structural integrity, hip structure, and bone in a moderate framed easy fleshing package. Their maternal granddam, 53D2 a Foundation daughter, is currently owned by Mike WeathersGenesis Ranch is without doubt one of the most feminine, productive members of the 53 cow family whose origin is the Bradley 3 herd Memphis, TX. A program where reproduction in a tight breeding season under harsh environmental conditions redefine functionality and survivability. Their dam 535E20 needs little introduction to those familiar with the Schmidt program. The 535 cow family, established through the Brinks Brangus new genetics program, has left a perpetual mark on the breed and with Randy’s usage of Angus genetic in the production of Ultrablacks 535E20 has become a dynamic force at a level few other females ever achieve. Her EPD profile is one of the most complete you will find in the breed as she ranks in the top 10% or better on 12 traits plus the top 20% for Milk. She has proven herself as a premier producer most notably when her three sons by Data Bank highlighted the spring 2024 sale at Chimney Rock. These maternal sibs were exceptional not only in their uniqueness but also their similarity of type.

SF D’ARTAGNAN 535L5 was purchased by Cavender Ranches for $25,000, SF Full Throttle was purchased by Carl and Becky Goodnight and Dr, Dwaine Dickey for $24,000 and SF Data Bank

535L7 by Jackie Rogers for $23,000. Testimony to the difficulty breeders had in deciding which of these full brothers was their pick. With only two to pick from this spring will be the only thing that makes this decision less difficult. These two calving ease prospects rank in the top10% of the breed for WW, STAY, FI, and NC, the top 15% for YW, TM, REA, HP, and TI, the top 20% for IMF and BB and the top 3% for SC. Lot 91-535M30 presents himself with an awesome amount of rib shape volume base width and dimension. He blends that into a smooth eye appealing package with more than adequate bone, long level top line and awesome hip shape and moves out with a long smooth stride that exemplifies dominance. His full brother Lot 92-535M34 is stamped from the same mold. Deep, thick, in a moderate framed package, with a bit more ruggedness in his overall design and the substance of bone he stands on. Free moving and athletic as he moves away from you, and he impresses with the dimension through his rear quarter and the amount of meat and muscle he expresses. It will be exciting to watch these two individuals as they develop and mature and produce genetics for the future of the breed. Without question they can be defined by three simple words – BALANCE, UNIFORMITY, and COMPLETENESS – that have a huge meaning and are sure to resonate with a ground swell of importance as we navigate the future of the cattle industry.

COMMERCIAL FEMALES

The GENEPLUS partners, as well as our commercial customers that have consigned females to this offering, continually strive to offer the industry the highest quality and most genetically superior commercial females available. We utilize the majority of tools available to us such as AI’ing to the most genetically superior calving ease bulls, the utilization of genetics that have been parent verified, many of which have genomically enhanced EPD’s, plus data compilation and transfer to the IBBA from birth to weaning to more accurately identify the lineage of the genetics behind this offering. We do,

however, in no way quantify the progeny of these commercial genetics to be kept as intact males for use as sires in the industry. We are definitely proud of what we are offering, and without a doubt feel they are an asset to generate increased productivity for the programs purchasing them. It is our belief that for the beef industry to stay competitive with the other protein sources available that the male progeny from this genetic pool being offered do not meet the standards necessary to move our industry forward to use as breeding bulls and should be made steers as we intended.

HOW THEY WILL SELL

Heifers will be penned at the sale site in pens ranging in number from 10 to 25 head. We will video the cattle as a pen and will show that video as that pen of cattle is being sold. The cattle will not be run through the ring but as stated earlier most can be viewed at the sale site prior to the sale in their pen. We will produce a sale order for cattle selling and each pen will be split into several groups. As each pen comes up for sale we will sell the

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Bidding

Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder. The auctioneer will settle any disputes as to bids and his decision on such matters shall be final.

Terms

Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold, but it shall be the obligation of the seller to see that animals are fed and cared for, until loaded for shipment or until the expiration of 48 hours after the sale, whichever occurs first. After 48 hours a maintenance fee of $3.50 per day will be assessed until pickup.

Cash Sales

All sales are for cash unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made with the seller or GENEPLUS prior to the sale. Payment must be made within 30 days of the sale date. Parties not adhering to said settlement terms will be assessed a nominal interest charge by GENEPLUS.

Sight Unseen Purchases

Buyers may purchase cattle through GENEPLUS personnel at auction or private treaty without viewing the cattle. For sight unseen purchases, the buyer has the right of inspection at the time of delivery. If the animal is deemed unsatisfactory, it may be reloaded on the delivery truck at no obligation to the buyer. All transportation expenses will be the responsibility of GENEPLUS. If the purchaser is unable to view the animal upon delivery that purchaser would have one week to deem the animal as unsatisfactory. In this instance the buyer may, at their expense, return the animal to GENEPLUS for a refund of the purchase price. DVAuction purchases do not fall under this guarantee.

Certificate of Registry

A transferred certificate of registry will be furnished to the purchaser for each registered animal within 45 days of proper settlement.

Health

Interstate health papers suitable for interstate shipment will be furnished on all animals as required by federal and state regulations.

Announcements

Any changes from the information of any kind in this catalog will be provided in a sale day supplement sheet or announced from the auction block and such information shall take precedence over cataloged information.

Breeding Guarantee

1. The seller guarantees all animals to be breeders with the exception of:

a) Calves under 12 months of age at the time of sale;

b) animals shown by purchaser after sale in which the breeding

guaranteed (if any) shall be agreed upon between the seller and the buyer;

c) animals who suffer injury or disease following the sale; d) animals subjected to gross negligence by willful misconduct on the part of the purchaser.

2. The seller guarantees that all bulls are breeders for a period of 90 days following the initial turnout date with buyers’ herd as long as this occurs within 60 days of date of sale. Or in the case of a bull purchased in the fall and not used until spring or vice versa they will be guaranteed for the 90 days from that first date as long as bulls have been kept in good condition and not run with other older mature herd bulls. This only applies to bulls that are at least 12 months old at time of sale and have not been allowed to run with the herd until at least 14 months of age. Seller does not guarantee death loss or injury.

Any bull which settles cows by natural service and passes a fertility test made by competent veterinarians, mutually agreed upon by buyer and seller, during any six-month period of trial (provided for in paragraph 2 of the section of these sales terms and conditions entitled “Option and Privilege of Return and Adjustment”), shall be considered a breeder unless otherwise agreed by the buyer and the seller. The seller makes no guarantees with respect to the bull’s ability to freeze semen.

3. Cows with calves at their side are presumed to be breeders with no further fertility guarantee.

4. “Safe-in-calf” females are guaranteed by the seller to have been examined by a competent veterinarian or reproductive technician and determined to be safe-in-calf by examination or other proven method (e.g., ultrasound, pregnancy blood tests, and rectal palpation).

5. Exposed females are not guaranteed to be with calf.

6. “Open” females are guaranteed by the seller to be without calf.

7. Donor females:

a.) Unless otherwise agreed by the buyer and the seller, a female that has been used in an embryo transfer program is not guaranteed to be a breeder after the date of the sale.

b.) Unless otherwise agreed by the buyer and the seller, a female is not guaranteed to be a breeder after the date of the sale, when that female is to be used, or attempted to be used, in an embryo transfer program.

c.) Virgin, open heifers that are placed in IVF or conventional embryo transfer prior to being confirmed bred will void any seller’s guarantee of breeding or embryo production.

8. The seller makes the following guarantees with respect to all “pregnant recipients”: (i) that the female is pregnant, (ii) that the resulting calf is of the pedigree represented, and (iii) that the resulting calf is of the sex represented (if so represented).

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Semen

1. Unless otherwise agreed by the buyer and the seller, with respect to the sale of semen the seller makes no guarantees with respect to the performance or characteristics of such semen and the buyer is purchasing such semen “as is.”

Embryos

1. Embryos being offered for sale will be sold “as is” unless the seller provides additional guarantees.

Privileges of Return or Adjustment:

Options

1. With the exception of any applicable transportation expenses described herein, a seller shall never be liable to a buyer for an amount greater than the original selling price of any animal sold under these Sales Terms and Conditions.

2. Unless otherwise stated, all claims for adjustment or refund must be made in writing to GENEPLUS within 180 days following the sale of the animal in question.

3.If an animal is claimed to be a non-breeder, the animal may be returned to the seller if it is in good condition and complies with the health requirements of the seller’s state. At the option of the buyer, the seller may issue a credit to the buyer for use in a future purchase or provide an animal of equal value subject to the approval of buyer. If the buyer exercises either such option, the claim shall be deemed fully and satisfactorily resolved. The seller does have the option on any animal’s claimed to be a non-breeder that the buyer, at his expense, return the animal to the seller and the seller has 180 days from the date the animal is returned to the seller’s ranch to conduct a trial to demonstrate the returned animal is a breeder. If the animal is confirmed to be a breeder during the test trial this shall be deemed full satisfaction and settlement of the claim. Any expense incurred for transporting an animal claimed to be a non-breeder will be the responsibility of the buyer.

4. If a female sold as “safe in calf” proves not to be in calf, the seller must make a satisfactory adjustment on the purchase price to the buyer or, at the buyer’s option, either credit can be given for the purchase price of the female or a satisfactory animal agreed on by both parties to replace original female. Any claim for adjustment under this paragraph must be made in writing to GENEPLUS within 60 days of date of sale.

5.If a female represented as “safe in calf” to a certain bull at the time of sale proves to have been bred to a different bull, the seller must make a satisfactory adjustment on the purchase price to the buyer. Any claim for adjustment or refund under this paragraph must be made in writing to GENEPLUS on or before the first anniversary of the date of sale.

6. If a female sold as “open” proves to be with calf, the buyer may return the animal to the farm of the seller prior to calving for a credit of the full purchase price or for another animal of equal value, whichever is acceptable to the buyer. The Seller is responsible for all transportation expenses.

7. If an animal (including the offspring of a pregnant recipient) is sold and through parentage verification is proven to have incorrect parentage, as represented by the animal’s certificate of registration and for which correct parentage can be determined, the seller is obligated to make satisfactory adjustment on the purchase price only to the buyer or, at the buyer’s option, credit the purchase price upon the return of the animal to the farm of the seller. Any claim for adjustment or credit under this paragraph must be made in writing to GENEPLUS on or before the first anniversary of the date of the sale. Those animals upon which parentage verification has been recorded with the IBBA will be so noted in the sale catalog or in a supplement sheet. At time of purchase it becomes the buyer’s responsibility to adhere to the rules of the IBBA regarding parentage verification for animals used for semen and embryo production.

8. If the resulting calf of a pregnancy is not of the sex represented at the time of the sale, the seller is obligated to make a satisfactory adjustment on the purchase price to the buyer or, at the buyer’s option, credit the purchase price upon the return of the animal to the farm of the seller. Any claim for adjustment or credit under this paragraph must be made in writing to GENEPLUS on or before the first anniversary date of the sale.

9. Unless stated otherwise, all transportation expenses incurred will be the responsibility of the buyer, except that the seller will be responsible for transportation costs in excess of the distance between the buyer’s farm and the location where the sale took place.

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS

The above terms and conditions of sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller of each animal and shall be equally binding upon both. Other than the guarantees and warranties stated above, no other warranties or guarantees are expressed or implied. Each sale or resale of an animal constitutes a separate transaction.

Neither GENEPLUS, the ranch the sale is being held on, nor any other sale consultant or persons connected with the management of this GENEPLUS sale, assumes any liability, legal or otherwise.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: Do not treat cattle with Valcor within 15 days of slaughter. Not for use in female dairy cattle 20 months of age or older, including dry dairy cows; not for use in beef calves less than 2 months of age, dairy calves, and veal calves. Safety has not been evaluated in breeding bulls. Use with caution in cattle treated with cholinesterase inhibitors. Multiple breed leading sires have risen from this sale over the past 3 decades, but more importantly than that you will find consistency unlike any other in the breed from lot 1 to lot 150. High accuracy sires and proven cow families.

We are in ALL aspects of the cattle business, not just seedstock producers. This gives us a viewpoint from conception to marketing to consumer in understanding what the industry needs. We have watched and listened to our customers and built a product with a shot of ear that ACTUALLY fits the entire country.

The lost art of the cattle business is balance. More programs are chasing extremes in one area or another. We are not. These cattle can AND will profit through multiple points of the supply chain on the terminal side WHILE still making a female that can acclimate and excel in various environments.
