Safety The Trout River Trailer is not “just a trailer”, it is also a powerful machine with various mechanisms that could be potentially dangerous, the following are some general safety rules pertaining to trout river trailers: • • • • • •

Never enter trailer with conveyor in operation When conveyor is running be sure to keep all body parts, clothing, etc. clear of inspection doors, conveyor belt, or any other moving parts; failure to do so could result in serious injury Be aware of the tailgate position, and stand clear when opening or closing When trailer is unloading be sure to stand clear of the rear of the trailer, as to not get injured from load exiting the tub Ladder is designed for a maximum of 250 pounds; do not exceed this limit. Top ladder rung is not meant to be a step, it is only there as a “hand-hold”; do not use as a step Trailer hydraulic system is designed to run in access of 2500 psi, this amount of pressure could be very dangerous; always take care when connecting hydraulic lines, that it is done properly, and replace any damaged hydraulic components immediately. Always be sure system pressure is relieved before maintenance o Always connect return line first and disconnect last Air system can also be dangerous, be aware of air lines, that they are not damaged, and relieve system pressure before maintenance When working on the trailer, be sure all power systems are disconnected, unless otherwise instructed or needed, always be aware of present dangers

Rules regarding tarps •
Keep load level below tarp, as depicted below o Do not use the tarp to level load o This could result in stretching or breaking of cables, bending of crossbars/ rollers, tarp being ripped, or motors being burnt out

Never store tarp in opened position Tarp must be fully closed when driving, whether the trailer is loaded or empty o Wind could get under an opened tarp and rip it off
Page |4 The following are the recommended tarp maintenance schedules, as recommended by the manufacturers:
Cramaro flip system with roller Perform the following every week for the first month after installation, then monthly thereafter: • • • • • •
Grease bearings on roller plate assemblies. Remove handle cover and check chain tension. If chain is too tight or too loose the system will not operate properly. Check tarp for any abnormal wear. Small holes can become big problems if not fixed soon enough. Check all bolts and tighten if necessary Immediately fix/replace any parts that are damaged. Use oil similar to WD40 to oil the chain.

Cramaro end to end Every 2 months: • • • • • • • • • •
Check tension of cables. Check length of tarp Clean and lubricate cables Check security of cable clamps Inspect the tarp for any tears, cuts, or worn areas Check alignment of rear bow Check condition of cables (check for frayed wire, cuts, rust) Check tension of V belt or chain Inspect hardware to be sure fasteners haven’t become loose Make certain anti-lift clips are installed on all vinyl systems
Every 6 months •
Remove the cable clamps and inspect that area of the cable for corrosion or broken wires. If necessary, replace the cable.

Look at the general condition of the system and ensure all components are not too used or damaged (torn, cracked, dented, bent). Inspect wear and tear of the tarp. Ensure all screws and bolts are in place and well tightened.
Monthly: • • • • • • •
Ensure bearings, and universal joints turn freely with no excessive operating gaps. Lubricate the bearings with penetrating oil. Grease the universal joints Make sure the horizontal telescopic tube slides easily and does not get stuck or seize. Grease the sliding junction. Make sure all springs are in good shape and function normally. Verify that cables are not frayed or are about to break.
