Safety The Trout River Trailer is not “just a trailer”, it is also a powerful machine with various mechanisms that could be potentially dangerous, the following are some general safety rules pertaining to trout river trailers: • • • • • •

Never enter trailer with conveyor in operation When conveyor is running be sure to keep all body parts, clothing, etc. clear of inspection doors, conveyor belt, or any other moving parts; failure to do so could result in serious injury Be aware of the tailgate position, and stand clear when opening or closing When trailer is unloading be sure to stand clear of the rear of the trailer, as to not get injured from load exiting the tub Ladder is designed for a maximum of 250 pounds; do not exceed this limit. Top ladder rung is not meant to be a step, it is only there as a “hand-hold”; do not use as a step Trailer hydraulic system is designed to run in access of 2500 psi, this amount of pressure could be very dangerous; always take care when connecting hydraulic lines, that it is done properly, and replace any damaged hydraulic components immediately. Always be sure system pressure is relieved before maintenance o Always connect return line first and disconnect last Air system can also be dangerous, be aware of air lines, that they are not damaged, and relieve system pressure before maintenance When working on the trailer, be sure all power systems are disconnected, unless otherwise instructed or needed, always be aware of present dangers

The Salt Spreader The Trout River salt spreader is designed to be an attachment for either a full-size trailer, to maximize time between fill ups, or for a more versatile option, the TR Box, which can be mounted on a plow truck.

The salt spreader is controlled based on the ground speed. It speeds, and slows the unload rate according to the speed the truck/trailer is going, and what the discharge rate is set to.

The spreader will evenly distribute the material, up to 8 feet wide The tub is capable of hauling different materials The large brine tanks give the option to spray the material as it is discharged for more effective de-icing The brine pump has a cleanout tank, which ensures maximum pump life Designed to be relatively easy to remove from the trailer/box, making the equipment useful multiple seasons

How to: Use •

The Trout River salt spreader is very easy to use, the controls are located in the cab, and are adjustable with the various buttons or dials for each function

Clean • •

The salt spreader is designed to be simple to clean, all of the potentially hard to access areas are accessible via the different doors and hatches on the spreader The brine pump has a tank to be filled with a cleanout liquid, after use it is recommended to run cleanout fluid through the pump to prevent corrosion

Remove •

The salt spreader is easy to remove via a quick attack system, and quick coupling hydraulics and electronics

Because its unload rate is controlled by the ground speed, the Trout River salt spreader is proven to not waste any material o This means money savings as no product gets wasted when the vehicle slows down o Easy to use, the controller does the work The spreader delivers an even spread, which means safe roads, and a job well done With the ability to spray brine on the product at the spinner wheel, this results in more de-icing power The brine nozzle is located just over the spinner wheel. The placement of the nozzle ensures the brine will be effective and not wasted Since the spreader is removable, this gives the Trout River trailer, or box, the ability to be useful in any season
