Safety The Trout River Trailer is not “just a trailer”, it is also a powerful machine with various mechanisms that could be potentially dangerous, the following are some general safety rules pertaining to trout river trailers: • • • • • • •

The rear lift should be treated with special care, be aware of trailers position, stand clear of the trailer when raised and/or unloading Never enter trailer with conveyor in operation When conveyor is running be sure to keep all body parts, clothing, etc. clear of inspection doors, conveyor belt, or any other moving parts; failure to do so could result in serious injury Be aware of the tailgate position, and stand clear when opening or closing When trailer is unloading be sure to stand clear of the rear of the trailer, as to not get injured from load exiting the tub Ladder is designed for a maximum of 250 pounds; do not exceed this limit. Top ladder rung is not meant to be a step, it is only there as a “hand-hold”; do not use as a step Trailer hydraulic system is designed to run in access of 2500 psi, this amount of pressure could be very dangerous; always take care when connecting hydraulic lines, that it is done properly, and replace any damaged hydraulic components immediately. Always be sure system pressure is relieved before maintenance o Always connect return line first and disconnect last Air system can also be dangerous, be aware of air lines, that they are not damaged, and relieve system pressure before maintenance When working on the trailer, be sure all power systems are disconnected, unless otherwise instructed or needed, always be aware of present dangers

The Rear lift, its purpose • •

The Trout River “Rear Lift” does just what its title implies. It lifts the rear of the trailer up 12 feet, for the loading of other equipment The idea in mind when the rear lift was designed was to eliminate the need for a loader and operator in the field o For example, some customers use it for fertilizer, they load the trailer and take it to the field. Each time the spreader needs to be loaded, the rear lift trailer loads the spreader, rather than hauling a loader to the field and loading from a pile, which would also need to be hauled It is designed to save our customer’s time, and money

Key features •
One important feature of the Rear lifts design is that the bogie moves forward, as the tub goes up. o This provides about 6 feet of overhang to easily get the machine being loaded, underneath the trailer

The rear lift function is remote controlled, but also has a manual valve in a box at the rear of the driver’s side fender The tub is lifted by 2 hydraulic cylinders, 1 on each side, that are more than capable of lifting a fully loaded trailer The bogie and tub are connected by 2 frames, that are X braced for strength, and provide just the amount of movement needed o The tolerances, and strength of these pieces ensure that everything lines up the way it should, and will continue to into the future

When the trailer is in the lowered position it can haul and unload anything a live bottom without the lift option can haul When lifted, materials that have a tendency to roll may not unload properly. An example of this would be pellets o If material does this, a decreased angle my be required to unload Our customers successfully use the rear lift for produce, fertilizers, gravel, and asphalt As with a regular live bottom, do not haul any material larger than 6” in diameter, as this can cause damage during entry and exit of trailer
