Safety The Trout River Trailer is not “just a trailer”, it is also a powerful machine with various mechanisms that could be potentially dangerous, the following are some general safety rules pertaining to trout river trailers: • • • • • •

Never enter trailer with conveyor in operation When conveyor is running be sure to keep all body parts, clothing, etc. clear of inspection doors, conveyor belt, or any other moving parts; failure to do so could result in serious injury Be aware of the tailgate position, and stand clear when opening or closing When trailer is unloading be sure to stand clear of the rear of the trailer, as to not get injured from load exiting the tub Ladder is designed for a maximum of 250 pounds; do not exceed this limit. Top ladder rung is not meant to be a step, it is only there as a “hand-hold”; do not use as a step Trailer hydraulic system is designed to run in access of 2500 psi, this amount of pressure could be very dangerous; always take care when connecting hydraulic lines, that it is done properly, and replace any damaged hydraulic components immediately. Always be sure system pressure is relieved before maintenance o Always connect return line first and disconnect last Air system can also be dangerous, be aware of air lines, that they are not damaged, and relieve system pressure before maintenance When working on the trailer, be sure all power systems are disconnected, unless otherwise instructed or needed, always be aware of present dangers

Step 1: Cut Gasket • •
Cut a ¼ thick rubber strip about 3” wide, and the length of the box, to place between the truck and box frames Place rubber on both frame rails of the truck

Step 2: Place box on truck • •
Using the 4 lifting rings on the top rail of the box, and a crane or lifting machine, lift the box onto the truck frame and let down where desired on the truck Be sure the box is centered on the truck frame, and an appropriate distance from the cab

Step 3: Fasten clamps to box Note: Truck frame may have pre drilled holes for mounting, in which case it would be best to use these holes, and drill holes in TR box accordingly. Do not drill truck frame if the manufacturer states it is unsafe to do so.

The bottom plate of the box has a series of holes to bolt clamps to. Pick the ones that work best for you, and attach clamps using properly sized bolts, do not tighten yet Generally, there should be 3 clamps per side If none of the pre cut holes work, drill and fasten to the truck frame first, then drill holes in box, as pictured

Step 4: Mark and drill for clamps Note: Truck frame may have pre drilled holes for mounting, in which case it would be best to use these holes, and drill holes in TR box accordingly. Do not drill truck frame if the manufacturer states it is unsafe to do so.

With clamps bolted to the box, use clamp holes as a guide to drill the truck frame o Be sure nothing is behind where you are about to drill. Clamps may have to be moved to accommodate truck features When holes are drilled, insert bolts and tighten clamps first to the truck frame, then to the box o Do this to all clamps, when finished, the box will be securely fastened to the truck

Step 5: Hook up power systems •
Depending on what features your box has you may need to hook up some, or all, of the following power systems: o Hydraulic supply and return line o Air supply line o Electrical ▪ Tail lights ▪ Reverse lights/beeper ▪ Signal lights ▪ Aux lights ▪ Tarp ▪ Other
