Adjusting the Arm Style Belt Scraper The belt scraper is located at the rear of the trailer, below the belt. Its purpose is to keep the belt scraped clean and to avoid contamination between loads. This page will go through the steps in properly adjusting our arm style belt scraper. •
The belt scraper is tensioned using an arm tensioner on each side. The arm tensioner is rotated, creating tension, then locked in place which pushes the belt scraper against the belt. Use the following step to adjust
Step 1: Loosen the lock bolt •
Using a 20mm (13/16”) wrench loosen the tensioner lock bolt
Step 2: Rotate to apply tension •
Using a 52mm (2 1/16”) or large adjustable wrench, rotate tensioner until belt scraper touches the belt, then rotate an additional 10-15 degrees to apply tension

Step 3: Tighten the lock bolt •
While holding this tension on the arm tensioner, re-tighten the 20mm tensioner lock bolt.
Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 on the other side of the belt scraper, being sure both sides are equally tensioned What does proper adjustment look like? •
•
Proper tension is reached when the scraper keeps in constant contact with the belt, and keeps a steady pressure, so that you can see it rise between each crossbar as the belt travels Do not over-tension, as the belt or lacing could be damaged Tensioner (52mm)
