Já no primeiro toque e a cada novo contato, cada lençol, manta, toalha, irão justificar o que significa o valor de uma marca. Nosso desafio está em cada vez mais desmistificar a história do número de fios, que por muitos anos tem confundido a cabeça de muitos clientes. We live in a very intense world, where we are always in a rush, trying to find new and surprising things. Trousseau’s history has not been very different in the past 23 years, especially for this new collection - in which we present a truly innovative concept, that we are sure you will love. Each product has been obsessively developed with great attention to detail. Upon first contact, - each sheet, blanket or towel will justify what ‘brand value’ means.

Our challenge lies in demystifying the history of the thread count, which has, for many years now, confused our clients. We wish to demonstrate that design, comfort and durability are the true pillars of a brand that wishes to perpetuate itself and are built by our team with a good deal of effort, in search of more select and unique products that are always exclusive to Trousseau. We are very proud to have our products sold in almost every capital city of the country, as well as an amazing space in Miami, also, our products are present in all the best hotels in Brazil with our hotel line. More recently, we have earned our space inside the Dufry stores, so as to serve and diffuse our products more than ever in foreign markets. SA N DRO OBER H A M M ER O designer italiano da Trousseau usa seus traços para criar produtos que transportem a imaginação de quem os usa a cenários de filme

Ele tem o dom de transformar os momentos mais íntimos em sonhos. É ele quem cria sensações que parecem vir de clássicos da literatura, como dormir nas nuvens e sentir a pele abraçada por enormes algodões-doces. O nome desse mágico é Sandro Oberhammer, o designer italiano que assina as linhas da Trousseau e também trabalha com a internacionalização da marca. Para proporcionar experiências fantásticas aos clientes, Sandro não mede esforços na busca incessante pelas melhores matérias-primas que existem no planeta. “Nosso cliente ama a beleza, a descoberta e novos produtos e materiais“, diz, e completa: “Mas eles também apreciam o bom gosto e estilo”. Sandro atribui seu talento à experiência que adquiriu com marcas italianas, como a Culti, na qual atuou por cerca de oito anos, em Milão. A marca, conhecida pelos seus perfumes, linhas para casa e acessórios de viagem, acrescentou muito na carreira do designer. Formado em Assuntos Humanísticos, Culturas Estrangeiras e Marketing, a experiência em moda também agregou bastante em seu trabalho. Sandro praticamente viu nascer a tendência lifestyle nas linhas de homewear e as acompanha desde então. Há 23 anos, Adriana e Romeu Trussardi Neto, donos da Trousseau, apostaram no

segmento premium de enxoval, um tipo de negócio inédito no país, que depois cresceria a passos largos, com notoriedade mundial. E como ninguém explica os encontros maravilhosos que o destino nos proporciona, Sandro conheceu o casal, em Milão, no dia, no lugar e na hora certos. Em pouco tempo, os três resolveram unir seus talentos, e o designer foi convidado a trabalhar para a marca brasileira. “Naquela época, não imaginava trabalhar para uma empresa do Brasil nem sabia como isso seria possível, mas eu queria ter novos desafios.” Então, em julho de 2011, convencido por Romeu e Adriana, Sandro desembarcou por aqui e não parou mais de visitar nosso país.

Desde então, é ele quem assina as coleções da marca. O resultado de todo o know-how do designer é visível nas peças assinadas por Sandro, seja nos jogos de cama, toalhas ou roupas, seja nos acessórios de decoração. A concepção de cada coleção acontece com uma grande antecedência por meio de inspirações que podem surgir das mais diferentes formas. “Tudo o que acontece no nosso dia a dia, uma viagem, uma sensação, um encontro, um lugar ou até uma simples flor, pode ser uma fonte de inspiração.” Para este inverno, a beleza da rotina diária serviu de base para a definição das estampas e acabamentos.

S “As inspirações chegaram dos momentos mais importantes do dia, começando pela manhã (com um céu estrelado ainda de um azul escuro), para depois passar por paisagens campestres lindas que inspiram calma, ideais para a tarde, e desenhos românticos, além de outros mais modernos baseados nas tonalidades de cinza que remetem à noite”, explica o designer. O DNA da marca, segundo Sandro, é sinônimo não só de conforto, mas também de lazer, para que a rotina diária seja mais agradável. Chegar em casa, cair no sofá, sentir-se abraçado por almofadas, usar uma roupa que nos faça sentir livre, enfim, são detalhes que fazem uma enorme diferença, tornando a vida mais leve. É dentro de casa que descansamos e nos revigoramos para enfrentar a vida cotidiana. Daí a importância de investirmos no prazer de repousar em lençóis confortáveis, na indescritível sensação de estar nas nuvens, que só toalhas extremamente macias nos dão, após um banho relaxante, e até em um aroma agradável no ambiente, que criam a identidade única que só nossa casa tem. Para Sandro, tão importante como vestir um lindo cashmere italiano é sentir-se confortável. No processo de fabricação da marca, há uma essencial junção de elementos, com parceiros espalhados pelo mundo todo. O algodão, cultivado no Egito, na área de Giza, chega da Itália, onde foi tratado e transformado em tecidos exclusivos com tecnologia avançada. “A confiança e o bom relacionamento que temos com nossos parceiros é muito importante”, conta o designer. A Itália assina as estampas, utilizando o método exclusivo da Trousseau, a tecnologia chamada

Dream Touch (DT), que dá aos tecidos um toque extremamente sedoso. O cashmere também só poderia ser italiano, mais precisamente da região do Piemonte, famosa por produzir o melhor cashmere do mundo.

St. Gallen, próximo do Lago Constança, na Suíça, internacionalmente conhecida pelos seu bordados finos e delicados, é quem fabrica as rendas da Trousseau. E, seguindo os padrões de buscar as melhores matérias-primas, o algodão utilizado para o Homewear da marca só poderia vir do Peru, onde é cultivado o Premium Pima Cotton, uma espécie de algodão que parece abraçar e cuidar da pele, de tão leve e macio. É essa identidade que a Trousseau quer para suas coleções, apostando em linhas exclusivas, na qualidade inigualável de seus produtos, que fazem a marca crescer pelo Brasil e pelo mundo afora. Até hoje, além das 25 lojas físicas espalhadas por todo o país, os produtos da Trousseau já aterrissaram em Miami, nos Estados Unidos, e também na Itália e na Suíça, com previsão de abrir mais filiais pelo mundo. “Nossa visão pode ser resumida na ideia de think global, act local”, explica o designer, e continua: “A Trousseau tem uma natureza brasileira. O conceito, a origem e a estética do país estão em nossa essência. Mas não deixamos de estar atentos a alguma característica peculiar dos países onde nos instalamos”. O objetivo é conquistar clientes que desejam não apenas produtos de casa, mas também produtos sintonizados com o lifestyle de cada um, capazes de oferecer uma experiência para ser compartilhada com sua família e as pessoas que você ama, e que fazem todos dizer, enfim, “Lar, doce lar”.

Como aconteceu a chegada da empresa ao Brasil? Desembarcamos no Brasil em 2010, trazendo na bagagem toda a experiência acumulada ao longo de anos de trabalho em mais de 30 países, já que estamos presentes na Europa, nos EUA, Canadá, Porto Rico e México. Então podemos dizer que chegamos aqui maduros e prontos para os desafios – até porque havíamos estudado bem o mercado nacional. Também é importante mencionar que nossa entrada no Brasil foi facilitada pela joint venture entre a Elavon Inc. e o Citibank.

Qual a importância do mercado brasileiro para a empresa? Tratamos todos os mercados com muito respeito e seriedade. Linhas tortuosas e aparentemente sem sentido ou direção encontram-se no infinito da criatividade dos irmãos Campana para ganhar o status de obra de arte – porque algumas coisas precisam ser analisadas como um todo e a partir de certo distanciamento.

Se dois passos para trás são decisivos na hora de compreender os trabalhos assinados pelos paulistas, é preciso ir ainda mais fundo para entender a carreira da dupla: Humberto, nascido na Rio Claro de 1953, é formado em Direito; Fernando, que veio ao mundo em 1961, na cidade de Brotas, cursou Arquitetura. Há mais de 20 anos eles entenderam que a soma, no caso deles, era mais produtiva (e evolutiva) que a divisão. Juntos explodiram em um inconformismo pouco apreciado no Brasil imaturo da época, mas calorosamente recebido na Itália – terra natal da família.

O sucesso dos irmãos ecoou além-mar até chegar aos ouvidos dos brasileiros. Embora alguns anos tenham se passado entre o início da carreira da dupla e o devido reconhecimento de sua genialidade, é preciso pontuar que isso só aconteceu quando o país se viu pronto para abraçar e incorporar tamanha complexidade.

O Brasil teve de se sofisticar e amadurecer para trazer de volta para casa um dos maiores talentos do design e da arquitetura nacional.

Renascer em terras tupiniquins não os fez morrer no estrangeiro – muito pelo contrário: além de serem um dos poucos artistas brasi-

Como Yin e Yan traduzem a dualidade e o equilíbrio do mundo, os Campana tiveram de se aprofundar no universo Trousseau para conseguir expressar toda a complexidade da marca e do projeto.

“Fomos muito fiéis às nossas texturas e valores; conseguimos criar uma linha de cama em escala bidimensional”, comemoram os irmãos. “Acreditamos que todos os lados saíram mais fortes e experientes depois dessa experiência, mas é preciso pontuar a disponibilidade e entrega da Trousseau, que chega a confeccionar algumas peças manualmente”, completam.

Trabalhar com novos mercados como esse costuma ser algo instigante para a dupla: “A moda, por exemplo, é uma ótima oportunidade para explorar outro universo e para falar com uma mídia diferente”, explicam. Mais do que desenhar objetos e prédios, os Campana arquitetam palavras e até o próprio destino.

leiros a constar no acervo do MoMa, em Nova York, e a ter peças permanentes em museus e mostras dos EUA e da Europa, os Campana comemoram suas últimas novidades, que incluem a exposição “Anticorpos”, escolhida para abrir o mês do Museu de Arte Moderna em Trapholt, na Dinamarca. Trata-se de uma mostra retrospectiva, que mergulha nas duas décadas de trabalho dos artistas. Fora isso, os irmãos estão envolvidos na concepção de um café e um restaurante, em um projeto de design coletivo chamado La Jeune Rue, que será lançado em setembro deste ano, em Paris. A dupla também aguarda a estreia da coleção “Fitas”, criada por eles para a Melissa, e festeja a primeira instalação em edifício residencial – o prédio Habitarte, construída pela empresa Stan, no coração do Brooklin, em São Paulo, recebeu as obras recentemente. São tantas possibilidades e tantos desafios acontecendo simultaneamente que o tempo acaba sendo pouco para os sonhos – mas de alguns deles os Campana não abriram mão quando a oportunidade lhes bateu à porta, como aconteceu quando a Trousseau propôs aos irmãos desenvolver uma linha de cama diferente de tudo que a marca já tinha feito, e que fosse igualmente surpreendente para os clientes da maison e para os fãs dos artistas. Nesse trabalho da dupla, desenvolvido exclusivamente para e com a Trousseau, não dá para negar: perto ou longe, a genialidade ainda é a mesma.

Anos depois, Philomena abandona o convento em busca do filho, e conta com a ajuda de um jornalista temperamental (Steve Coogan). Por mais dramática que seja a história dirigida por Stephen Frears, há um toque de humor britânico. Vale a pena assistir.

E NGL ISH V ER SION ___________________________________ SANDRO OBERHAMMER The Italian designer from Trousseau uses his lines to create products that transport their wearers’ imaginations into movie sets.

He has the gift of transforming the most intimate moments into dreams. He is the one Who creates sensations that seem to come from literary classics, like sleeping on top of clouds and getting the feeling ones skin is being hugged by cotton candy. The name of this magician is Sandro Oberhammer, the Italian designer that pens Trousseau’s collections and also works on the brands internationalization.

To offer fantastic experiences to our clients, Sandro leaves no stone unturned in his incessant search for the Best prime materials available on the planet. “Our clients Love beauty, Discovery and new products and materials”, He asserts, and goes on to say: “But they also appreciate good taste and style”. Sandro attributes his talent to experience which he acquired whist at Italian brands such as Culti, where he worked for eight years, in Milan. The brand, known for its perfumes, home oriented lines and travel accessories, added a good deal to the designer’s career. Graduated in Humanistic Issues, Foreign Cultures and Marketing, the experience in fashion also supplemented his work. Sandro practically saw the birth of lifestyle tendencies in the home wear lines and has been a close observer ever since.

23 years ago, Adriana and Romeu Trussardi Neto, owners of Trousseau, took a chance in the premium linen segment, an unprecedented industry in the country, which would come to grow rapidly, with global notoriety.

And, since no one can explain the wonderful encounters that destiny sets us up for, Sandro met the couple in Milan, on the right day, at the right place and time. In a short space of time, it was decided that all three would join forces, and the designer was signed to the Brazilian brand. “At the time, I never imagined I would be working for a Brazilian company, I had no idea how that would be possible, but I wanted new challenges”. So, in June of 2011, convinced by Romeu and Adriana, Sandro disembarked on Brazilian soil and has not stopped visiting us since. From that time on, he has signed the brands collections.

The result of all the designers know-how is visible in the pieces signed by him, be them linen, towels, clothes or decoration accessories. The conceptualization of each collection is done well in advance and can suggest itself

in many different manners. “Everything that happens on a day to day basis, a trip, a sensation, meeting someone, a place or even a simple flower, may be a source of inspiration”.

For this winter, the beauty of the daily routine has served as a basis for defining the patterns and finishings.“The inspirations come from the most important moments of the day, starting with the morning (with a dark blue starry sky), eventually passing through beautiful country-side views that inspire calmness, ideal for afternoons, and romantic drawings, as well as other more modern ones based on grey tones which remit night time”. The designer explain. The brands DNA, according to Sandro, is synonymous with comfort and recreation, so as to make the daily routine more agreeable. Arriving home, and falling onto the sofa, feeling hugged by the pillows, using clothes that allow us to feel free, are, after all, details that make an enormous difference, making life a little lighter. It is inside the home that we rest and reinvigorate ourselves to face our daily lives. Hence the importance of investing in the pleasure of resting on comfortable sheets, in the irrefutable sensation of being in the clouds, which only extremely soft towels provide one with, after a relaxing bath, and even in a agreeably scented ambiance, that create a unique identity which only our house has. For Sandro, as important as dressing oneself in beautiful Italian cashmere, is to feel comfortable. Within the fabrication process of the brand, there is an essential coming together of elements, like partners scattered across the globe. The cotton, cultivated in Egypt, in the Giza area, arrives from Italy, where it has been treated and transformed into exclusive fabric of the highest technology. “The confidence we have in our partners is very important”, says the designer.

Italy creates the prints, utilizing a Trousseau exclusive method, a technology called Dream Touch (DT), which imparts the fabric with and extremely silky touch. The cashmere could only be Italian, from the Piemonte region, in fact, famous for producing the best cashmere in the world. St. Gallen, near Lake Constance, in Switzerland, internationally known for its fine and delicate embroidery, produces Trousseau’s lace. And, maintaining our standard in searching for the world’s best raw materials, the cotton used for our Homewear line, could only come from Peru, where the Premium Pima Cotton is cultivated – a species of cotton that seems to hug and take care of the skin, being so soft and light. This is the identity Trousseau wants for its collections, staking all

on our exclusive lines, in the irrefutable quality of our products, which make the brand grow throughout Brazil and the world. So far, apart from 25 physical stores spread all over Brazil, the Trousseau products have arrived in Miami, in the United States, and also in Italy and Switzerland, with plans to launch more branches around the world. “Our vision may be resumed as think global, act local” declares the designer, and continues: “Trousseau has a Brazilian nature. The concept, the origin and the country’s aesthetics are present in our essence. But we are always attentive to particular characteristics present in countries where we install ourselves”. The objective is to win over clients that wish for more than just products for the home, they want products that are in sync with their lifestyle, capable of offering an experience that can be shared with family and loved ones, and that make people say, at last: “home, sweet home”. ___________________________________ SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIP Elavon, a processing and payment multinational, arrived in Brazil and was swiftly chosen by Trousseau.

How did the company’s arrival in Brazil come about? We arrived in Brazil in 2011, bringing in our baggage all the experience accumulated throughout the years working in over 30 countries, such as the USA, Canada, Porto Rico and Mexico; So we can say we have arrived here mature and ready for any challenge that may lay ahead – we made a close examination of the national market before establishing ourselves. It is important to mention, also, that our entry to the country was facilitated by the joint venture between Elavon Inc. And Citibank. What is the im-

portance of the Brazilian market to your company? We treat all markets with the utmost seriousness and respect. It is not different with Brazil, however we must recognize that business here is more attractive, due to the growth possibilities – not to mention Brazil is the second largest world market in terms of electronic payment methods, a seductive title. I believe that we can contribute to the development of the national market place, importing Elavon’s know-how from a wide selection of countries, with innovative and differentiated solutions. Since your arrival, how do you evaluate Elavons growth?

Elavon has been very well received by the Brazilian market. Large retailers have already adopted us as the main acquirer for their business. The company’s growth in Brazil is reaching the levels established in our business plan.

Trousseau was one of the first companies to utilize Elavon’s services. What did this partnership mean to you? Not did, does.

It makes us immensely proud. We know the credibility and potential Trousseau has, so we were very flattered with the vote of confidence that was given us so early in our journey in Brazil; we worked very hard to honour our commitment and to improve the performance of every business. What was it like working with Trousseau from the beginning? From the start, the partnership has been very successful. We want to be ever closer, to better understand Trousseau’s business and to be in a position to offer them solutions that will add value, as well as new business possibilities for the company. We believe in partnerships that contribute towards both business’ sustainability . In other words, if our client grows, so do we. What are the company’s future plans?

Are there expansion plans? What is the target you wish to achieve this year? The company has aggressive targets for the near future. This is a very important year for Elavon, for we are consolidating our presence in the Brazilian market and enlarging the number of products offered in Brazil. With this, we believe in the growth of our performance in segments such as entertainment and tourism, as well as new virtual payment platforms. ___________________________________ SIMBIOSE FASHION The Campana brothers and Trousseau join forces to launch a new and exclusive bed linen line.

“FERNANDO E HUMBERTO CAMPANA Just as Yin and Yang translate the duality and

equilibrium of the world, the Campanas have had to immerse themselves in the Trousseau universe to manage to express all the complexity of the brand and the project. “We were very loyal to our textures and values; we anaged to create a line of bed linen in a bi-dimensional scale”, cheer the brothers.

“We believe that all sides came out of this more experienced and stronger, but one need to punctuate the availability and delivery of Trousseau, that actually manufactures some of its pieces by hand”, they finalize. Working with new markets such as this, will often have an instigating effect on the two: “Fashion, for example, is a great opportunity to explore another universe and to communicate with a different kind of media”, they explain. More than just drawing objects or buildings, the Campanas design word and even their own destiny.” Tortuous lines apparently with no sense or direction join in the infinite that is the Campana brothers’ creativity, to gain the status of a work of art – because some things need to be analysed as a whole and from a certain distance. If two steps back are decisive in comprehending works created by the Paulista brothers, it is necessary to go even deeper to understand the brothers’ career: Humberto, born in Rio Claro, in 1953, is a law graduate; Fernando, who came to this world in 1961, in the town of Brotas, studied Architecture. For over 20 years now, they understood that the addition, in their case, was more productive (and evolutionary) that the division. Together they exploded in an inconformity little appreciated in the immature Brazil of that time, but were warmly received in Italy - where the family originates from.

The brothers’ success echoed overseas until it reached Brazilian ears. Although some years have passed since the start of their careers and the due recognition of their genius, it is necessary to note that this only happened when the country was ready to embrace and incorporate such complexity. Brazil had to become more sophisticated and mature in order to bring home one of the greatest national talents in design and architecture.

Being born again on Brazilian soil did not flag their international careers – in fact, the opposite happened: as well as being some of the few Brazilian artists with works at the MoMa, in New York, and to have pieces on permanent exposition in museums and exhibitions in the USA and in Europe, the Campanas celebrate their latest accomplishments, which include the “Anticorpos” exhibit, chosen to open the Modern Art Museum month in Tra-

pholt, Denmark. It consists of a retrospective exhibit, that delves deep into the artists’ past two decades of work. Apart from this, the brothers are involved in the conceptualization of a café and a restaurant, in a collective design project called La Jeune Rue, that will be launched this September in Paris. The couple also awaits the launching of their collection “Fitas”, created by them for Melissa, and celebrate the first instalment of their residential building – The Habitarte, constructed by the Stan company, in the heart of Brooklin, São Paulo, being built recently. There are so many possibilities and challenges happening simultaneously that there is little time left over for dreaming – however, some dreams cannot be denied when opportunity comes knocking, as happened when Trousseau proposed that the brothers develop a bed linen line different from any that has come before. And that was equally surprising to clients of the maison as well as to the artists’ fans. In this latest instalment of their work, designed exclusively for and with Trousseau, it is impossible to deny: far or near, the genius is still the same. ___________________________________ MATCH POINT A Trousseau project, headed by the Patricia Medrado institute, changes children in need paths through tennis.

The Trousseaus Tennis School is a social project that works mainly with children in need from the Campos do Jordão area, making sport a means of social transformation. This iniciative came about through a joint partnership with the Patricia Medrado intitue and the Campos do Jordão Tennis Club, with funding from Trousseau. The project involves 150 children, whom, after school, dedicate themselves to playing tennis, keeping them away from the dangers , we all know exist, when they are idle. We have received incredible testimonials relating to behavioural changes, and some of the participants have already shown themselves skilled enough to take part in competitions around Brazil, as is the case with young Rafael Gonçalves, a 19 year old tennis player who changed his life dramatically after taking part in a similar project (also headed

by Patricia Medrado), and is on his way to the United States shortly, where he will begin studying Aeronautical Engineering, thanks to a scholarship he won for his dedication. “This is an extremely valuable partnership, since it creates a long term vision, as well as bestowing credibility and confidence to the project” examines Patricia.
