Since William Wightman charged our first graduates with those inspiring words nearly 160 years ago, BirminghamSouthern College has worked to prepare young people to lead lives of significance. Students from all walks of life come to the Hilltop to earn degrees that will open doors to their futures. They encounter new ideas, explore their passions, and learn the tools to succeed. And once they graduate, they go on to make the world a better place.

We count on the loyal support of our donors to invest in our mission. Birmingham-Southern requires financial resources to attract and retain high-potential students, to provide them with unique learning experiences, and to recruit the student-centered faculty who will lead them.

The Forward Ever Fund, BSC’s annual fund, is focused on supporting student scholarships to make a top-ranked liberal arts education accessible to promising students from all backgrounds. Gifts to the Forward Ever Fund provide for our foundational merit-based scholarships.

Leadership giving allows you to shape priorities and match your giving priorities. Options include: • Endowed scholarships or professorships • Faculty support • Student support • Campus renewal Planned giving is a way of leaving a lasting legacy. These gifts may be funded with cash, securities, or property and are a long-term partnership between you and Birmingham-Southern. Options include: • Wills • Trust arrangements • Life insurance arrangements • Retirement plan assets Corporate giving allows our partners to connect with students, alumni, and the greater community.

At Birmingham-Southern, we know that generosity deserves recognition, and beyond thanking our donors, we publicly acknowledge their support through our giving societies.

Endowment Builders Society honors our foundational donors who have established an endowed fund.

Hilltop Heritage Society honors donors who have committed to support the college through a planned gift. ’Southern Society recognizes alumni, parents, and friends who provide annual gifts of $1,200 or more.

Ginkgo Society recognizes alumni who faithfully make a gift for five consecutive years or more.
