OUR ROOMS Our three rooms combine the richness of Rotterdam’s history with a contemporary décor and high-tech audio-visual equipment. The furniture arrangement can be suited to your needs and wishes while the high ornamental ceilings and the Rotterdam skyline are a splendid bonus.

You can raise your glasses to toast the newlyweds or enjoy an intimate dinner in the Elie van Rijckevorsel room.

The Ballroom and Salon can accommodate larger wedding ceremonies, tasteful dinners or a wonderful dance party.

ELIE VAN RIJCKEVORSEL ROOM

Raise your glasses in a setting that shows more than 165 years of Rotterdam history, overlooking the Kop van Zuid. That is why the Wereldmuseum is such a unique venue. The Elie van Rijckevorsel room, named after one of the museum’s founders, physicist and world traveller Dr. Elie van Rijckevorsel (1845-1928), is situated on the fourth floor of our heritage building. Celebrate your wedding with a small intimate group while ships pass by on the river Meuse.

OUR ARRANGEMENTS Our chef and his team have created an extensive menu for every moment of your day, whether it is a toast, lunch, dinner, or party.

Do you want to treat yourselves and your guests to our culinary delights? Then make sure to check out our arrangements to see what they include.

We also love to advise you if you wish to choose your own menu. You can find all our options based on cuisines from all around the world in our extensive Wereldmuseum Food book. After the official part of the ceremony, it’s time to cut the wedding cake, raise the glasses to everlasting love, and be congratulated by your family and friends.

When a couple gets married in the Wereldmuseum, it’s party time for the kids in the Kid’s Museum called Superstreet, the most exciting street in Rotterdam. Freddy, the local master of ceremonies, will be organising all kinds of great activities to celebrate the event and is ready to welcome your young guests from the age of 6.

PRACTICAL INFO ACCESSIBILITY The Wereldmuseum is located in the Scheepvaartkwartier, on the corner of the Willemskade and Veerhaven. The museum is easily accessible by car, public transport and even by water. The river shuttle, river taxi and Spido jetties are within walking distance.

PARKING There is only paid parking in the immediate vicinity of the museum. You can also use the Erasmusbrug parking garage at Gedempte Zalmhaven and the Van Vollenhovenstraat parking garage, both of which are within 450 meters of the museum. Parking on the Parklaan and adjacent streets is free after 6 PM.
