CHAMINOL SHAMPOO

CHAMINOL SHAMPOO is pH balanced for maintaining a healthy skin and coat in dogs and cats. It is uniquely formulated to provide deep cleansing without stripping the coat of its essential oils. CHAMINOL SHAMPOO contains three active ingredients for the management of bacterial and fungal skin infections. In addition, it has de-greasing and descaling capabilities to improve common coat and skin disorders, and is enriched with Vitamin B12 and Panthenol to prevent split ends and promote healthy hair growth.

The hair coat

The skin

The hair coat covers nearly the entire body of dogs and cats and is the first line of defence against the environment, antigens and bacteria. Maintaining a healthy hair coat is important for providing adequate thermal protection between the skin and the external environment. It will provide a barrier protection against chemicals, physical and bacterial invasion, as well as providing photo protection, and acting as an aggressive display.

The skin is the largest sensory organ in the body, monitoring the environment, regulating temperature changes within the body, preventing desiccation, dehydration and trauma. The skin serves as the second barrier to protect the whole organism from invasion of microorganisms and noxious chemicals. The skin also acts as a source of vitamin D synthesis. Secretions from the skin glands waterproof and lubricate the skin, as well as functioning as pheromones.

The skin reflects the state of health of the animal, as well as indicating the presence of internal diseases. There are critical differences between the skin of humans and dogs and cats, and this should be always borne in mind when choosing a shampoo. Human skin is at least three times thicker and has a lower pH, thus human shampoo will damage and strip out excessive amounts of skin cells from cats and dogs. CHAMINOL SHAMPOO is formulated to match the pH of a dogs’ or cat’s skin.
