NARRATIVE ESSAY 2

This is the second week of our class observation at Abellana National School. All faculty teachers and staffs were busy preparing for the big event on this day, March 22, 2023, Wednesday which was the celebration of the 121st Founding Anniversary of Abellana National School. Since this morning the teachers and students were busy and joined different activities inclined with the event. Therefore, there were no classes in all year level as all students were excused and were invited to participate in different activities and event.

Ideally, Abellana National School was the first Provincial High School and organized under the authority of Act. No. 372 of the Philippine Commission passed March 06, 1902. Moreover, the school offered a pure academic curriculum and operated until the World War II outbreak. It was then transferred to Argao, Cebu and the City of Cebu initiated the City High School which was situated in the old building of the Provincial High School. It had been named as Abellana High School in honor of the great Cebuano hero who was the Late Governor of Cebu Hon. Hilario Abellana and was killed by the Japanese during their occupation in Cebu. Later on, it was changed to Abellana Technical School and later to Abellana Vocational High School. Since the year of 1993, the school has been named Abellana National School by the virtue of the RA 3027 passed by Congressman Osmena. It is a comprehensive high school that offered both Trade and General curriculum. And the very first school principal was the late Mr. Valiente Cruz, while the current school principal is Mr. Nathanael M. Flores.
