Welcome to Weimar, Texas.
Weimar is a special place, full of joy and built on strong family values rooted in Czech and German heritage.
Our community was founded in 1873 along the projected route of the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway. It was originally named Jackson, in honor of D.W. Jackson, who donated the land for the railroad and town site. The name was later changed to Weimar, after the German town for which it was named.
After its founding, Weimar flourished and grew to about 1,000 residents, becoming an agricultural hub. Over the years, new industries developed, including oil field interests and a more

Here in Weimar, we are Rooted & Ready.
If you are holding this magazine, chances are you are looking for something. A place to build. A town that still feels like one. A community that remembers your name and means it when they say, “Let us know if you need anything.” Maybe you are looking for the kind of place where a friendly wave still greets you in passing.
Welcome to Weimar, Texas.
We may not have riverwalks or spotlights, but that has never been our style. What we have is steadiness, the kind that grows deep, not loud. We have built our town the same way we build our lives: solid, honest, and ready for the long haul.

Weimar’s HOME Program is one of the city’s key community housing efforts, created to help low-income families access safe and affordable housing. Through grants and partnerships, the program supports new home construction, home repairs, and improvements that raise living standards across the city. The city works with local agencies to ensure that qualifying residents can receive assistance to bring their homes up to code, improve energy efficiency, or correct structural issues.
Alongside the HOME Program, Colorado County Habitat for Humanity plays an important role in promoting stable housing throughout the region. Since beginning in 1996, the organization has built numerous homes and completed critical repairs for homeowners in need. The Habitat model encourages volunteer participation and gives prospective homeowners the chance to contribute sweat equity and secure affordable financing. In recent years, Habitat has expanded its repair efforts to assist families who need essential work such as roofing, plumbing, or accessibility improvements.
