More than just a bed and breakfast, guests experience true life on a small working farm when they stay at New Life Farms Bed-n-Breakfast. Michael and Amy Normand provide Texan hospitality with a personal touch, along with unique perks like home-cooked meals, helpful local recommendations, and one-of-a-kind guestrooms in a farmhouse nestled on the west edge of town.
“Here you can experience life on a farm,” shared Amy. “My husband, Michael, and I have very similar backgrounds that led us here. We enjoy showing our guests all the joys of the country. They can feed the donkeys, watch the chickens and guineas, and gather their own eggs. Children especially get a big rush from bringing in their own eggs and it’s usually something they’ve never done before. They’ll often say,”I want to eat my egg that I picked for breakfast!’ So, we’ll write their name on the egg they picked themselves.” Farms again and again.
“We have a great sitting area in the backyard,” added Amy. “It’s practically an outdoor living room. There are huge live oak trees that create a canopy over the yard. It’s a nice place to gather in the evenings. Guests can also enjoy our firepit on cold evenings while roasting marshmallows or wieners. It’s a relaxing place to be.”
Motivated by a desire to serve their guests, both Michael and Amy have the most fun at the breakfast table.
“Breakfast is served family style at our big harvest table,” said Amy. “I love it when strangers join up for breakfast and become friends by the end of the meal. You realize it’s really a small world, after all!

“One of my favorites are the breakfast tacos that Michael makes. He prepares pan-fried potatoes with caramelized onions, scrambled eggs, bacon, tortillas and cheese. I usually add homemade muffins and fruit with cream cheese. Often on Sundays, I make spinach quiche with a hashbrown crust and decadent French toast or peach dumplings, pancakes, waffles, or biscuits with sausage and fried eggs. It’s all good, farm food. We offer plenty of variety and include dairy-free, vegetarian, and gluten-free options when needed. If you sit down at our table, you will definitely not go away hungry!
