“ARE WE THERE YET?” On long road trips when you were a kid, you probably asked your Mom and Dad, “Are we there yet?”. Your kids may ask you that same question. The answer in the car and in today’s society is the same - “No.” We are not there yet battling the novel Coronavirus, and we are not there yet in solving the social justice issues our country is facing. A brilliant friend of mine, Bruce Turkel, stated something that resonated with me. “We are not all in the same boat. We are in the same storm, but not the same boat.” Some boats are ship-wrecked, some headed toward the rocks, and some on choppy waters, while others have relatively smooth sailing. No matter where your boat is, there are two things we can all do right now; listen and care. Now is the time to get better by really listening and letting people know you care. When you care, you make a connection, and when you make a connection, you can make an impact.
We are all judged on how we respond to stress, adversity and tragedy. Your true character shows in how you respond. What values do you want people to think about when they think about you? Being positive is not always easy, but research shows that people who are positive are happier, more productive and have more meaningful, deeper relationships. Being selfless is priceless. The storm is here and isn’t going away for awhile. During this storm, remember this quote from Viktor Frankl, “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”
I CHALLENGE YOU to take a good hard look at who has had the biggest influence on your life. Our research of impact and influence came to the conclusion that, “we make our biggest impressions when we are not trying to be impressive.” So, if you could build your own personal “Mount Rushmore of Influence”, who would be on there and why? When you dig deep, you will realize why those people are on there, it may have been something small, but I bet they are there because they listened and they cared. Now emulate what they did. If you want to have some real fun, ask with your kids and friends who their Mount Rushmore would be.
Guest article by Joe Schmit Joe is an award-winning speaker, author and television sports anchor. He studies people who make an impact and has written two books on impact leadership: “Silent Impact” and “The Impact Blueprint”.

ENEBAK CONSTRUCTION Enebak Construction employs nearly 100 people from operators to laborers to mechanics and office personnel. Of those 100 employees, there are currently 10 mechanics / operators that are based out of our shop down in Northfield. Our mechanics have many different responsibilities that play a very important role in the success of ECC. If our machines aren’t working, we aren’t working.
SHOP MECHANICS Almost half of our ECC mechanics are based out of the shop. They’re responsible for repairing anything from a small saw or pump, to changing out parts that are three times the size of the mechanic themselves. We use the shop to perform most of our major repairs and rebuilds and have enough room to work on three different machines at once in a controlled environment, so we can get our equipment back to work in the field as soon as possible.
FIELD MECHANICS We have four mechanics working in the field daily. They spend their days repairing and maintaining our equipment on-site from their specialized trucks. These trucks serve as a mobile shop that allows us to fix a majority of problems in the field without needing to haul equipment back to the shop. This cuts down on down-time and saves the company money.
LOWBOY DRIVERS We have two lowboy drivers responsible for moving all equipment from site to site. These

drivers move equipment using specially designed trailers that have up to 8, 9, 12 or even 13 axle configurations and range in length from 85 to 110 feet. MNDOT has limits on how much weight each axle can carry on the road. In order to move up to 110,000 pounds, we need to use larger trailers with more axles. For our largest trailer set up, we have an escort vehicle in the front and back of the truck and trailer guiding the way. If you see them on the road give them a wave, and move over - they could use the extra room! - Andrew Comstock | Assistant Estimator Enebak Construction

TRADITION MORTGAGE Tradition Mortgage began this year with great momentum from a record breaking 2019. We had strong origination months in January and February, followed by the most volatile month the mortgage industry has experienced in decades in March. While mortgage rates rapidly declined to record lows in response to the pandemic, policies were enacted allowing for loan forbearance to help clients impacted by COVID-19. While this was great news for borrower’s struggling with their payments, it led to the largest decline in mortgage availability since 2008 due to more restrictive qualification parameters as investors and servicers moved to reduce risk in their portfolios.

RECORD BREAKING SPRING With the dedication and hard work of the staff, Tradition Mortgage closed record volumes in March, followed by another record breaking month in April! Closings for March and April totaled almost 1,000 loans for well over $300 Million to help clients build, buy, or refinance.
NEW! ELECTRONIC CLOSINGS January featured an important milestone as we completed our first ever electronic loan closing. For years, as the mortgage industry continued to shift to a more digital experience, the actual loan closing
has remained elusive to modern day technology. Now, Tradition is able to offer a digital loan closing experience! This allows for less paperwork at the closing table, more time to review documents prior to closing, and an overall streamlined loan closing experience. E-Closing is a great enhancement to our other digital client experience tools. The digitization of the mortgage experience has been a long journey, but ultimately creates a better, more streamlined experience for everyone in the mortgage process. Tradition Mortgage continues to focus on constant improvement on customer experience for clients and business partners. MN LIC BC758134

Restored in 2006, this barn dates back to the original Brandtjen Family Farm in the 1920s. Since 2007, over 500 acres and 1000 lots have been developed within Spirit of Brandtjen Farm. While there are still detached townhome plats that remain to be implemented over the next two to three years, the 22nd addition lots conclude the last single family plat within the development. A major milestone!

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT 5 BED
5.5 BATH
5,741 SQ. FT.
While establishing the exterior architecture for this project, natural materials and textures played a large role. Reclaimed timber columns sourced from an old publishing building in St. Paul are seen on the front and back of the home. Steel brackets and cable awning call attention to the black windows, metal roof, natural stone and western cedar siding accent walls that tie into the unique smooth finish siding.
ROSEMOUNT, MN
These same materials carry through to the inside to hold the same design theme as the exterior architecture. The well designed footprint and 10’ ceilings showcase creative finishes and material applications. The windows serve as true pieces of art in this home, with black frames and simple grid pattern that captures the beauty of the scenic property. To compliment the windows, we kept the color palate warm and neutral with thoughtful introductions to pattern and texture.
Follow us for a sneak peek inside once this home is complete! MN LIC BC556362

LEGENDS CLUB It has been a unique 2020 in many ways. The mild MN winter gave us a chance to get on the golf course a little earlier than the past two springs and the course came through the winter in fantastic condition. There was some uncertainty with what the season might look like due to the current pandemic. Before the season started, many of our regular tournaments were pushing back from May and June to later dates in the summer, and the overall hesitation with the pandemic left us guessing how much affect that might have on the golf season. In mid-April, golf was designated as one of the safer outdoor activities, and we went from zero to sixty almost overnight. The tee sheet has been packed with our regular golfers, many new golfers and many golfers getting back into the game. It’s been an amazing response to a surreal situation around the world. - Mike Luckraft | General Manager Legends Club
CORPORATE/CHARITY EVENTS Legends Club is the home to multiple major charity events. Two large events that will be hosted here this year are:
CELEBRITY CAMO CLASSIC
HENDRICKSON FOUNDATION
Event benefits United Heroes League to keep military kids healthy and active through sports while their parents are serving our nation.
The Hendrickson Foundation mission is to grow the game of hockey by making it accessible to ALL people, despite any challenges they may be living with and creating a strong and more inclusive State of Hockey.

TRADITION WEALTH MANAGEMENT With the spread of coronavirus, many are left with confusion and concern. The uncertainty is being felt around the globe, and it is unsettling on both a human level and from the perspective of how markets respond. It is a fundamental principle, that markets are constructed to handle uncertainty and processing information in real time, as it becomes available. Amid the unknown that comes with changes and advancements surrounding the coronavirus, decades of financial science and long-term investing principles remain a strong guide for the market. - Chad Schumacher| President

ESQUIRE TITLE Esquire Title ended with a record year in 2019 and is on track to do it again in 2020. We continue to be ranked #1 (out of 75 agents) with our underwriter, First American. This is what an amazing team does and continues to do! As the rates dropped early this year, orders came roaring in. The first few months of the year had closing numbers we’ve never seen before. Especially when January-March are typically our slower months. Then, the pandemic struck. We, like many essential businesses, have seen many changes during the Spring months with COVID-19 safety precautions put into place to protect our staff and customers. Closings are completed through plexiglass shields and sanitized between each customer. Customers coming to closings have been fully equipped with masks, gloves and even the occasional hazmat suit. Our team adapted in an instant and has continued to provide exceptional service to our clients during these unprecendted times.

2020 | 1,480 2019 | 617 We’ve more than DOUBLED our volume!
NEW! E-SIGNING We have recently set up E-signing capabilities for some documents for closing! Although not a complete remote closing, the borrowers have the ability to log into a portal and Docusign the majority of the lender documents. There is still a formal closing set up because a handful of documents need wet signatures and/or notarizing, which can only be done in person, however, complete Remote online Notary, (RON), is not too far in the future.

PINKY SWEAR FOUNDATION held their annual gala virtuallly and it was a hit! KARE 11’s Eric Perkins was the emcee and they held an online silent auction. Almost $148,000 was raised to help kids battling cancer.
ART OF EDINA held their Braemar Art Gallery Launch Party in early Spring and has stayed connected via social media platforms to share uplifting photos during the quarantine.
Here are some inspiring and creative ways our community has stayed connected.
“When we think about what the phrase ”pass it on” means to us, we think about community and how we can all come together to make a difference for others. This phrase is so powerful and truly shows that together, with the amazing support from Tradition Companies and others, we can have an incredible impact on the kids with cancer and families we support.”
ERICA CAMPBELL
Executive Director, Pinky Swear Foundation
