Nominating Committee Proposed Vestry Slate 2022 Dennis Degnan: I have been a member of Trinity for several years and am a local business owner. I aspire with our business to be a secular ministry, exemplifying the true potential of principle-based Christian leadership through efficient business practices, fair pricing structures and compassionate leadership. I accepted the call to return to serve on our Vestry because I believe in Trinity as an inclusive, diverse, and Christian community. Trinity is full of kind, compassionate and caring people and, simply stated, I love it here. I served on the vestry for the last three years and headed up the property commission. I’ve also been involved in the recovery community for decades. I will go extraordinary lengths to help our beloved community in any way possible. It is a privilege and an opportunity to serve.
Karen Keune: In 2018, I walked through the doors of Trinity Episcopal Church in Downtown Toledo and was received with such warmth and love that I can hardly remember not being here. Having lived in the Toledo area my entire life, it wasn’t until I experienced Trinity, that I felt like I had found my spiritual home. My husband, George, and I have been married for 29 years and have 3 awesome kids, Lucya (25), Grayling (23), and Henry (9). What I love most about Trinity is the value placed on inclusivity and radical welcome. There are no strangers here, no judgement, and no need to play perfect. We are all welcome and loved for what and who we are. We are home.
Donna Steppe: I have been a member of Trinity since 2012, transitioning from St. Mark’s on Collingwood after its closing. I have been active in adult formation offerings, Sunday morning community breakfast, liturgical assistant, Sunday morning gospel reflections, the writing of our Trinity 2030 Vision and many other activities in our congregation. I was elected to vestry in 2019 and have served as Senior Warden for the last 2 years. Though the past 2 years have been a challenge for our community with the breakout of the COVID pandemic, I believe that we have proven that we are a strong community committed to one another through online worship, online coffee hour, note cards, phone calls, and online formation offerings during this time of isolation from one another. It is not a surprise that our community has grown despite the pandemic. It has been an honor to serve on vestry for the past 3 years. I look forward to serving another three years with the hope that we will move through this pandemic, and begin working toward the implementation of the dreams that we have laid out in our Trinity 2030 Vision.
