Nominating Committee Proposed Vestry Slate 2021 Becky Koskinen: I have been blessed beyond measure to be a member and part of Trinity for almost 2 years. When I walked into Trinity, I was home. I witnessed a church led by faith and love and a community based on and treated all people with respect, compassion and dignity. I have been involved in our Sunday Community Breakfast, have served as a greeter and a volunteer in numerous outreach efforts and events, and I still wanted more. I prayed and told myself to sit back, wait and listen to God (something I’m not good at). I wanted to plug in and serve in a deeper capacity. Vestry will be challenging, humbling, and it will be my honor to serve. I will bring commitment, passion, and work tirelessly to leave the positive footprint known as Trinity Episcopal Church: Progressive, Inclusive, Creative, Downtown. Kelly and I have been married for four years (together 22 years), and have raised 3 wonderful and caring children; Andrew, Benjamin and Alexandra, and they continue to amaze us every day. We have also been blessed with 2 beautiful daughters-in-law, Katie and Katy. May we continue to wonder, dream and move forward in social justice. Godspeed. Fritz Hany: I have been attending Trinity for the past 3 years and love being a part of this warm, welcoming and meaningful congregation and spiritual experience. Before Trinity I had attended St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Port Clinton where I previously served as a member of the Vestry. My wife, Susan, and I reside in Oak Harbor where she has been a teacher for 34 years and is now recently retired. Living in the rural Toledo area and having 28 years of public service have provided me many opportunities to be involved with several of our community’s organizations, including: past membership on United Way’s First Call for Help Committee, Magruder Hospital’s Board of Trustees and the Ottawa County Mental Health Board’s Committee on Human Rights. I have also been instrumental in establishing mental health, chemical dependency and domestic abuse programs targeting a portion of our community’s need to address these most important issues. This past year I had the honor of serving out a one-year unexpired term on vestry, and am now pleased to be able to run for a full 3-year term during this exciting time in our ministry and larger community. We have now met many of you and enjoy hearing the stories and experiences which lead you to Trinity. I would like to continue hearing from you and am honored to serve in this leadership role for an extended season. Roberta Durham: I first joined Trinity Episcopal Church in 2006, a time of deep spiritual exploration for me. This church welcomed and nurtured and nourished me when I needed it most. For reasons having little to do with the church, I took a hiatus from corporate worship for awhile; returning, I discovered a newly vibrant spirit. I am eager to be part of a movement that strives to connect us ever more meaningfully to one another, and which in turn then moves us out into the street to serve, as we are commanded. Apologies for not knowing whom to credit, but whoever said this said it best: “Trinity: We’re more than Sundays.” Amen and amen. I would be honored to continue serving this parish however I can.
