Freshers Guide 2016/2017

WELCOME TO TRINITY – FROM ALL AT STUDENT 2 STUDENT

Who Are We? Student 2 Student (S2S) is a service supported by the Student Counselling Service and the Senior Tutor's office. We have a small core staff who coordinate the programme.

The Student 2 Student society is run by a dedicated committee who organise social events, publicise S2S and ensure that the entire organisation is run with the students' best interests at heart.

The largest group of S2S volunteers are the S2S Mentors. In 2016/2017 there are around 700 volunteer mentors working in Trinity to welcome first year students.

S2S also offers Peer Supporters who are specifically trained to offer listening and support to any student in Trinity.

MEET THE COMMITTEE We, the committee, run the Student 2 Student Society. It is up to us to organise social events for our volunteers and their mentor groups, publicise the S2S programme and ensure that the society is run with everyone's best interests at heart.

Sarah Roache –President roaches@tcd.ie Hey, I’m Sarah and I’m S2S President for the year! My job is to ensure the focus of S2S stays on students helping other students. I've been really involved with S2S from the get go, and am excited for another year!!

Isla Hoe – Secretary hoei@tcd.ie Hey There! I'm Isla. I'm your Secretary this year. I'm a Computer and Electronic engineer student. My job is to make sure that everything runs smoothly and things get done on time!

Laura Rundle – Treasurer rundlel@tcd.ie Hi! I'm Laura, the treasurer! My job this year is to ensure we have the funds to hold all of our fab events. Feel free to drop me an email, or I can usually be found in the Linux labs in the Hamilton so come say hey!!

Laura Murphy – P.R.O murphl24@tcd.ie Hi guys! I’m Laura and I am your Public Relations Officer (PRO). I'm a Zoology student. My job is to make sure everyone knows what's going on with S2S. If you have any questions or want to chat, feel free to get in touch.

Stewart Treacy - Equality Officer treacyst@tcd.ie Hi, I’m Stewart, a Microbiology student. My job is to ensure everyone is treated completely equally. Feel free to get in touch with by email, or in person, I’m always tired so you may find me napping in the Hamilton!

Jack Sargent - International Officer sargenj@tcd.ie Hi, my name’s Jack. I’m a Law student. I was elected as an Ordinary Committee Member last year and have been actively involved ever since. I’m really excited for my next year with S2S in my new position as international officer.

Fionn Ryan – A.H.S.S Faculty Rep fryan3@tcd.ie Hi all, I’m Fionn, a 3rd year law student.

I’m from a delightful wee county called Leitrim. I love all things sport (other than cricket), and if I’m not throwing shapes in Palace, I’m helping out with the VTP, the SMF or S2S! Jack Kennedy – E.M.S Faculty Rep kennej10@tcd.ie Hey guys! I’m a biomedical engineering student. I enjoy short sprints uphill and into rucks, handing in assignments (slightly) late and burritos/steak, or steak-burritos…Or helping out fellow students, I guess it’s the same
