Courses
Holiday Courses
Trinity has fantastic courses on offer during school holidays. They are ideal for children and young people interested in activities such as field sports, swimming or computer coding.
All courses will be hosted at the school site in Shirley, set in 26 acres of green space, with the courses led by Trinity sports staff or trusted third parties.
The courses are open to all in the Croydon and South London area, including students and non-students.
National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) Gen 10
Led by Trinity sports staff, participants will complete three sections of the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ 10) as well as a theory test during the course. They will learn swimming pool safety operation and supervision, pool lifeguard emergency rescue skills, first aid, illness and injury management in a pool environment. Participants must be 16 years or above and be able to demonstrate various swimming skills before starting the course.
RLSS UK’s* NPLQ is the most awarded lifeguard qualification in the UK and Ireland. More than 35,000 pool lifeguards qualify with the RLSS UK every year, and there are currently more than 74,000 NPLQ-qualified pool lifeguards – 95% of all UK pool lifeguards. The NPLQ is also internationally recognised.
NPLQ Generation 10 is the latest edition of the NPLQ. It has endorsement against the CIMSPA Lifeguard Standard and meets the requirements within the Health and Safety Executive’s Managing Health and Safety in Swimming Pools (HSG179). The NPLQ Gen 10 can be delivered with optional additional qualifications – AED, EFAW, FAW, and Anaphylaxis Management. The NPLQ is a great addition to any CV or higher education application, and from May 2024, NPLQ Gen 10 carries 8 UCAS Tariff points.
Here at Trinity Swim School we pride ourselves in helping everyone learn to swim. Many of our swimmers have flourished over the years and our teachers are dedicated to helping you, or your child, achieve swimming success with confidence and ease.
Intensive Swim
Our Intensive Swim courses at Trinity take place over 5 days and rapidly improve children’s swimming abilities through consistent practice and focused instruction. We are committed to providing a relaxed, nurturing and environment and have done so for over 23 years.
Our intensive swimming lessons take place during the school holidays.
The Non-Swimmer course is for children with no water experience and includes full supervision.
The Beginner course is for children who can swim 5 metres on their front and back and are comfortable putting their face in the water, mainly in shallow water.
The Improvers course is for children confident in deep water who can swim at least 10 metres using front crawl and backstroke, with some breaststroke, focusing on stroke technique and breath control.
The Adults course is for anyone 18+ wanting to learn or improve, suitable for all levels.
