JACOB WILLIAMS WELCOME TO THE TEAM

We’re delighted to welcome Jacob Williams to the Apprenticeship Unit as our new Apprentice Liaison Officer. Jacob joined us in May 2025 and brings with him over 10 years of experience in the engineering sector, including time spent in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

A proud UWTSD graduate (First-Class Honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2022), Jacob is passionate about supporting apprentices through their own journeys. His positive apprenticeship experience drives his commitment to providing the same level of encouragement and guidance to others.

Outside of work, Jacob enjoys watching Swansea City, hiking, going to the gym, and staying active.

• Cultural experiences including the Tokyo Skytree, Shinjuku Gyoen, and traditional districts in Asakusa

• Engagement with the Welsh Government Office in Tokyo and the British Consulate

• A factory tour and museum visit at Toyota

• A day at Universal Studios in Osaka

• Attendance at World Expo 2025, focused this year on Sustainability and future innovation

• Historical reflections in Hiroshima and a visit to Miyajima Island

• Cultural exploration in Kyoto, including temples and an overnight train experience

“This trip is a life-changing opportunity for our apprentices. It offers first-hand exposure to Japanese culture, engineering excellence, and international collaboration. I look forward to seeing how this experience will inspire and broaden their outlook.”
