RETURNS
The Titan Jazz Festival returned last April to the Trinity campus for the first time since 2019, featuring more than 200 talented student musicians from around the state. Schools performing included Appomattox Regional Governor’s School, Collegiate, Deep Run and Monacan. This year’s lineup also includes modern jazz and avant-pop saxophonist Daniel Bennett and the VCU Greater Richmond High School Jazz band, made up of some of the best high school jazz students in the area, including our own trumpeter, Cameron Walker ‘24.

SPRING ART SHOW
Students, parents and guests enjoyed the return of the annual Spring Art Show in the Estes Athletic Center in May — with hundreds of works of art, including drawings, paintings, ceramics, 3D sculptures, photography and digital mixed media. A group of professional artists came to campus to serve as judges for the top submissions in each category. Congratulations to all of the participants. Here is a complete list of this year’s honorees:

AGNES OF GOD
“Catharsis,” the Trinity Theatre Club, presented “Agnes of God” by John Pielmeier in two performances in late February in the Perkinson Arts Center Theatre. This intense drama considers the roles of faith and science in individuals’ lives. This was the second time Trinity theatre students performed this play; the first time was in the spring of 1989.

SYMPHONIC UNION

On the last Wednesday in April, string orchestra student musicians from St. Christopher’s, St. Catherine’s, and Trinity joined forces for the first time to present “A Night at the Symphony,” held at St. Christopher’s recital hall. Naima Burrs, professional guest conductor, was invited to work with the students for a day of rehearsals and a magical evening performance. Players performed classic, quintessential pieces of a Symphony Orchestra concert, including music by Mahler, Bologne, Tchaikovsky, Grieg and more.
