Sr. Mary Aquin O’Neill R.S.M. is a doctoral graduate of Vanderbilt University, and a past professor of Systematic Theology at Notre Dame University, Indiana, U.S.A. She is the founding Director of the Mount St. Agnes’ Theological Centre for Women (Baltimore) sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy of the United States of America.
Sr. Mary Aquin was in Australia on a lecture tour and to address the Australian Conference of Spiritual Directors. The tour was initiated by St. Agnes’ Parish, Glen Huntly, where she delivered a lecture on “The Holiness of the Ordinary”. The Trinity lecture topic was chosen by the College as an appropriate one for an American Roman Catholic to address to an Australian audience of people involved in Theology and church life and discipline.
One of the things held up for our consideration in this presentation was the difference of polity between the Anglican and Roman Catholic Churches. This lecture was presented in October 1999.
